[dropcap]D[/dropcap]espite the fact we have no commonality of vision at all with libertarianism due to its ahistorical support for a fairytale capitalism, we do have a great deal of respect for those libertarians, like Dr Ron Paul, who are not afraid to denounce Western imperialism’s meddling and depredations across the globe and the constant push for intimidation and war. Here’s an example of his principled stance on these issues:

Iran protests…CIA fingerprints? (1.2.18)

Strong stomach required. An analysis by the group Tyranny Unmasked of Benjamin Netanyahu’s denial of Israeli meddling in Iran’s disturbances, and the West’s efforts to foster the overthrow of Iran’s current Islamic Revolutionary leadership.

Having come across a number of posts on Facebook dealing with the Iranian situation, our esteemed colleague, contributing editor Hiroyuki Hamada, mediated the following statement by [his] friend Ray Hosseini.

By Ray Hosseini—

“I spent the 90s, my teenage years and early 20s, fighting the Revolutionary Guards in the streets of Tehran. I was arrested a few times and spent many nights in military cells up in the mountains of Tehran during those years.. So don’t lecture me on what the Iranian government is and isn’t. Yes, the government has many problems. We don’t want corruption. We want secularism. It’s a government, and only Iranians in Iran have the right to decide what it is, and certainly not some biased foreigner like you. I was never a fan of the government, but don’t get me wrong, they have gained my respect for their fight in Syria. I know many people in Iran personally, young people, who volunteered to join the fight in Syria. Syria was the only country in the world who helped Iran when Saddam Invaded Iran with the West’s backing. Syria is also the last domino peace before Iran in the Western game of Imperialism and their greed for hegemony in the region. If Syria falls, the wars will come within the borders of Iran. That is why Iran is fighting there, and these protests are not about them at all. So, don’t quote a biased Israeli article on what’s going on with Iran, to an Iranian. If Iran was left alone by the likes of the US and the Zionist entity, there would have been no need for these wars in the neighbouring countries. Do you complain about the billions of dollars and UK pounds the world sends ”Israel” to maintain its expensive presence and occupation? If you don’t, and you only complain about Iran’s helping of Syria etc, then you are a hypocrite. Now back to the protests in Iran. Yes, Iranians have many valid reasons to protest for but the problem is that every time the Iranians tried to make a move for a change, or tried to choose their own paths, their efforts have been hijacked and sabotaged by the imperialist meddlers. Just look at the modern history of Iran. These countries fly over the skies of Iran like vultures for every opportunity they can get to destabilise it in order to defuse the big obstacle that Iran is to their regional hegemony and exploitation of resources. If Iran was left alone, people wouldn’t have as many problems as they are complaining today. If the Mideast was left alone, in fact, most countries in the region would have had modern, secular democracies leaning on socialism. Extremism was injected in the region to destroy these sovereign nations, and the current Iran you see, is a result of many decades of foreign meddling and hijacking of people’s efforts to improve their own lives. If you really sympathize with Iranian people, then you would raise your voice against all these foreign nations who ”support the protests” and against their imperialist agendas, and you would let the people of Iran decide what they want rather than forcing your own version of ”freedom” onto them. Perhaps the first step is for yourself to stop spreading propaganda. Good day.

”

Ray Hosseini’s comment came from this thread:

https://www.facebook.com/hiroyuki.hamada/posts/10155924678114454

And he also had this to say:

“That’s ludicrous Daniel Weltlinger. So if I don’t like a government and rebelled against them when I was younger, I’m not allowed to objectively see their pros and cons within the international framework and agree with some of the aspects I find to be good? It’s double talk unless I am 100% against or for them? I thought I was discussing things with a more sensible person.. If I reverse your logic, then when you do support a government you will have to be totally blind to anything negative about them… Is this how you are with any establishments you support? For the record, I’m from that demography of minority Iranians you probably get your clues about Iran.. The wealthy upper Tehran people, or the wealthy Iranian diaspora… My father managed the London branch of Banke Melli (the national bank of Iran) before it was closed down during the revolution. Many of my childhood friends come from families who were prominent industrial or political families during the Shah times, whose vast wealth and lands were all confiscated after the revolution.. I grew up listening to a woman next door whose husband was a pilot for the Shah’s air force; he was executed by the Islamic revolutionaries.. The nostalgia for the shah times and hatred for the Islamic revolution was all around me when I grew up, but let me tell you this, all these people actually participated in that revolution… Why? Because they were all angry at the Shah.. and their democracy had been killed in 1953 by the UK and the US.. Who knows how much foreign meddling was there in 1979 even.. Yes, the revolution started out more as a socialist/communist movement which then was taken over by the Islamists… but hey, to say ー ”That revolution had nothing to do with previous interferences in the region nor any nice gentle concepts of live and let live.” is nothing but ignorant… The revolution was brewing for years BECAUSE of the foreign interference, although nobody knows how the Islamists took over the revolutionary movement…Perhaps some of my friends here can enlighten us more on this subject.. It was a reaction to foreign interference and imperialism whichever way you look at it… As with your following sentence – ”Israel is completely ‘occupied’ so long as any single inch of it is in the hands of dhimmi Jews who dared to have some piece of their original lands back that over the past 1400 years have been ‘Islamic’ lands.” You do realise that modern humans have been in the Mideast for 80,000 years at least? When did Proto-Semitic speakers emerge even, let alone Hebrew or Arabic speakers..? Probably not longer than 8000 years ago.. And even if we look at documented history which is no older than 6000 years give or take, there were people in Palestine long before the Jews arrived… So really, for anyone to claim ”original lands” anywhere on earth is very immature and frankly, outdated, unless you are an Australian aboriginal… The problem in Palestine started in the last century and the ancient claim of lands is nothing but a diversion… All ethnicities including the Jews lived in peace as neighbours in Palestine until the modern state of ”Israel” was created on top of the people who lived there.. It was established by ethnically cleansing people to make way, and as a neo-colonial military outpost in the Mideast for the imperialist ambitions of the West.. This is quite obvious if you connect all the dots… And please don’t make me laugh by saying– ”Haven’t exactly heard Israel say to Iran – repeatedly – that they want to ‘blow them off the map’’. That’s all Israel has been pushing for for decades, because Iran is an obstacle to their Zionist ambitions.. So what about the Quds force and Qasem Soleimani..? Iran is free to appoint anyone it likes as its ambassadors… That’s the point of sovereignty… Look at the US’s ambassador to the UN before you complain about any Iranian ambassador to anywhere… Hypocrisy again..? What’s your opinion of Bernard-Henri Levy for example? Or What’s your opinion of ‘Which path to Persia’ ? You are being very one-sided in your arguments without addressing the root causes of the problems…The point of the matter is, I have no illusions about the Iranian government and I would prefer that it changed, only if it was possible.. Why isn’t it possible? That’s because any slight move now from Iranians to change anything and the whole team of US allies will be in Iran in no time to destroy the country and take away their sovereignty. Iranians are not allowed to change things for themselves without foreign meddling, that’s the current situation of the world. Given this reality, the current Iranian government is the best option we have as an alternative to western backed destruction and thievery… That’s why I’m saying that the world needs to leave Iran alone if it really thinks about Iranians, because Iranians can sort things out themselves if left alone.. This goes for the entire region by the way.”

About Us

Kitty studious philosopherTHE GREANVILLE POST (TGP) is an antidote to and refuge from the ubiquitous brainwash long afflicting most people in the United States and the rest of the collective West. TGP is an independent, (barely) reader-supported, non-dogmatic publication dedicated to seeking the truth wherever it may be found. Thus, we publish voices from any point in the political spectrum, left, right, up, down, except shitlibs, professional disinformers, media whores, and demagogues of the extreme right. TGP is already heavily shadowbanned; it could be gone tomorrow. That’s the lousy, uber-hypocritical times we inhabit, so read it while you can, and do pass its carefully selected articles to others: friends, kin and workmates. Incidentally, if you can send a donation, do so. For obvious reasons, we do not operate behind a paywall. Defeating the Big Lie is too important and urgent to subject the truth to the test of wallet power.
