PHILIP A. FARRUGGIO—If you go out into the real world of our neighborhoods, business offices, supermarkets, libraries, and other places of community interaction, go and speak to those you rub elbows with. Sadly, not too many, to this writer’s tally of understanding, even know the real facts of what is really going down concerning Julian Assange, Chelsea Manning, Iran and Venezuela, to name just a few recent issues. No, the herd is either deeply engrossed in their electronic gadgets or sports news, or for those who actually get their info from the mainstream media, the important ( tongue deeply in cheek) Moeller report, border wall, Trump impeachment Yes or No, or other trivial scandals.

The Dismemberment Of Yugoslavia 20 Years On
56 minutes readR S AHTHION—There were no winners in this war bar the imperial bandits. Even for the imperialist countries. It cost the Nato countries £20 billion to bomb Yugoslavia. This will inevitably be paid for by the proletariat. The working class who will be asked to tighten their belts. To consume less and produce more. The war damage to Yugoslavia was upwards of £100 billion in damage. 14 percent of the £20 billion was to be paid by Britain. The British government began implementing spending cuts as a result. Cuts to lone-parent benefits, done away with free university tuition and abolished maintenance grants. The incredible amount of money for adventures and imperialist banditry can always be found though to bomb countries into oblivion.
Ukraine’s own examination found that the use of the UAF against the population of Donbass is illegal
4 minutes readAccording to Oleg Zhivotov, the lawyer of the former head of the General Staff of the UAF Vladimir Zamana, who is suspected of committing treason and dismantling the Ukrainian army during the period from 2011 to 2013, when he allegedly reduced the number of UAF troops, the results of the examination are contained in the notice of suspicion handed to his client. He stressed that the conclusions of experts of the Prosecutor General’s Office completely confirm the accusations of Russia about the illegality of Ukraine’s use of the army against its own people.
Prospects for the emergence of a real opposition in Russia
17 minutes readTHE SAKER—The distinguishing characteristic of this new opposition to Putin is that it sees itself as the truly patriotic segment of Russian society. These are folks who blame Putin for being weak, indecisive and corrupt (including personally). They believe that Putin sits on the top of an oligarchic pyramid which only pays lip service to Russian national interests, but which in reality is interested only in wealth, power and influence. Frankly, much of their argumentation about Putin’s alleged corruption is based on a mix of disinformation and personal hatred for Putin himself. In contrast, however, their arguments that Putin is too weak or indecisive are based on a completely rational and fact based analysis of the events which have marked Putin’s presidency.
Speeding into the Void of Cyberspace as Designed
ED CURTIN—In a brilliant book written in 1999 before the hyper-speed era was fully underway – Speaking Into The Air: A History of the Idea of Communication – John Durham Peters, while not especially focusing on the issue of speed and technology as does Virilio, indirectly explores the fundamental issue that underlies technology and its control by the elites. The problem with technology is that it is the use of a technique applied to physical things to control those who don’t control the machines. Today that is the Internet and digital technology, controlled by those Virilio calls “the global kinetic elites.”
