But few of the pundits, politicians and think tankers promoting this program have much of an idea about whether this outcome is remotely possible. Guest host Aaron Maté and Americans’ Comedian Kurt Metzger speak with retired U.S. Army Colonel Douglas Macgregor about the collective delusion among Western nations that Ukraine can defeat Russia on the battlefield.

At 2:40 Macgregor says that at the end of this war, “there will be no more indepedent Ukraine” and that Russia will have taken the entire country. Aaron Mate then asks a question. It ignores that stunning prediction by Macgregor. I had thought that Mate is an intelligent person, but now I am having my doubts about that. This assertion by Macgregor demanded a relevant followup question, such as “Will you please explain why you think that?” When Mate blew it there, by ignoring that stunner, I quit watching, because that flub shows Mate (who is a superb investigative journalist) to be an incredibly poor interviewer. I don’t know how one can be both, but he is.
