Few things spell the global crisis of legitimacy in the West than these two words: Biden & Trump. Or the pathetic Haley. Is that the best this "democracy" can offer? All over the West, cretins and alarmingly unqualified people occupy the top positions

But the attack on Gaza is meant to be like Truman atom bombing Nagasaki and Hiroshima. That is why The US supports it, because it is to intimidate the Arab world. Public intimidation works up to a point because it affects the liberal mind, but not the modern proletariat. And the world has changed since 1945 and like Yemen shows is less impressed by unbridled violence.

As for lost wars, the US and vassals do not care if they lose, because profit is made either way, winning or losing.

Should one be concerned about the US election and if any of the two candidates wins ? Is it paramount to keep the US in fighting condition? Does it matter whether we have Harris or Haley in charge ? Would it have mattered if Incitatus had become consul? Or that the lover of a friend of Macron is France’s prime minister ? All that only shows the impotence of the public and the enduring power of the state. Human institutions are in essence very conservative and not easy to steer in a different direction than that of rule and be ruled. It does not take a village, but a revolution and that kind of an event is still very far off. Despite the rumblings of resistance in the many demonstrations against the attack on Gaza, the need for a basic change remains like Hadrian’s soul, fleeting and wafting off into the air. One may use these references to the Roman empire because despite superficial resemblances of the US (and Western Europe) to its decline, the real resemblance is the decadent chaos and human despair
