As a wise person, Ben Norton is reluctant to make predictions.
As a foolish person, I make this prediction: there is zero chance the USA will be able to split Russia from China. That is pure fantasmagorical wishful thinking sprouting from the top of Trump’s hairpiece.
As Ben correctly pointed out, the indispensable currency for any relationship is trust. Repeated interactions between the USA and countless parties over >2 centuries have shown two-faced betrayal and violation of signed agreements whenever it suited the USA. The USA is now even cutting loose the UK, who deserve abandonment because they were actually the parent to the USA’s cultural character of deceit and betrayal. A natural falling out among thieves, crooks and genociders.
Repeated interactions between Russia and China over many decades have shown they can solidly trust each other in the short, medium and long terms. Russia and China are also learning that Iran and North Korea are straightforward trustworthy partners.
China now leads the US in 57 of 64 key technologies and will soon dominate all sectors.
The USA continues to dominate all other countries in one field: that of Hollywood type fantasmagorical propaganda which still resonates strongly among the mentally challenged brainwashed comprador classes around the world. These 5th columnists do remain a significant threat in some BRICS countries like Brazil, however they are largely a spent force in Russia where they are no doubt under continuous surveillance, ready to be Navalny-neutralised should they attempt reactionary skullduggery and domestic sabotage.
Trump always makes incredibly idiotic statements based on his wishful thinking or his hormonal cycle at the time, if only to provoke outrage from his audience. That is the nature of an attention seeking narcissist. My suggestion is to ignore what he says but pay attention to what he does.
Right now we have a real prospect of peace for Ukraine. The mass genocide of Palestinians has paused, if only temporarily, which is not nothing. Israel is now less likely to strike Iran. Overall our risk of global nuclear war has substantially diminished compared to the time of the Biden crime regime.
Everyone can now breathe a little easier, even though there remains plenty of work to be done.
