DEMOCRACY NOW!—As the official death toll in Gaza passes more than 42,400, the true number may be impossible to know until Israel’s war is over. But medical workers who witnessed the carnage in Gaza’s hospitals are speaking out. We speak with Dr. Feroze Sidhwa about his op-ed in The New York Times that features harrowing stories from dozens of healthcare workers and CT scans of children shot in the head or the left side of the chest. The Times called the corresponding images of the patients too graphic to publish. “I personally wish that Americans could see more of what it looks like when a child is shot in the head, when a child is flayed open by bombs,” says Sidhwa. “I think it would make us think a little bit more about what we do in the world.” We also speak with Palestinian nurse Rajaa Musleh, who worked at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City. “I will never forget the dogs were eating the dead body inside Shifa Hospital at the front of the emergency department. This will be stuck on my mind for my whole life,” says Musleh. “My message for the whole world: We are human beings. We are not numbers. We have the right to receive healthcare inside Gaza.”

How America Rules the World – The Secrets of Neo-Colonialism
[Enhanced & expanded version]by S.L. Kanthan137 Mins readSL KANTHAN—The world is corporatized – banks, food supply chain, healthcare, education, utilities such as water and electricity, infrastructure technology, media etc. are all run by giant corporations. (China is an exception where many critical industries are run by state-owned enterprises. Russia also has a similar structure for oil and gas companies. This is one reason why the US hates China and Russia so much). More importantly, all these corporations are deeply interlinked in terms of the largest shareholders and boards of directors. Thus, there is a “swarm effect” and they all work in tandem, similar to how birds of a large flock fly in unison.

EDITOR—Capt. Matthew Hoh discusses the volatile situation currently engulfing the world as Israel prepares to strike Iran and defences are beefed up on both sides. Capt. Hoh notes that in order to strike Iran, Israel will have to use its prized F-35 fleet and this will become a test of this plane’s actual capabilities. The world—and especially the Russians and Chinese—will surely be watching. The F-35s already have a poor reputation even in the US, where many qualified observers see it as hugely expensive, overdesigned, and highly prone to malfunction.
Capt. Matthew Hoh had nearly twelve years experience with the US military and the wars overseas with the United States Marine Corps, Department of Defense and State Department.

UNDERSTAND THE MIDDLE EAST CRISIS: Israel does what it does; it was always planned this way
Playing nice’ won’t change its paradigm. Failure does.14 minutes readALASTAIR CROOKE—The strategy of using Israel as the regional battering ram to achieve U.S. (imperial) objectives was worked out essentially in the 1960s by Senator Henry “Scoop” Jackson. Jackson was nicknamed ‘the Senator from Boeing’ for his support for the military-industrial complex. And the military-industrial complex backed him to become chair of the Democratic National Committee.
