CAITLIN JOHNSTONE—“Why don’t you ever criticize RUSSIA’S warmongering?” is a question I am often asked with great indignation. People cannot comprehend why I would spend all my time criticizing the warmongering of the power structure I live under without spending any time criticizing the government they’re used to hearing criticisms of. It’s a question born of delusion and propaganda brainwashing, and it has several good answers. Here are some of my favorites.

Thierry Meyssan: The world order already changed in 2022
22 minutes readTHIERRY MEYSSAN—It is wrong to imagine that the strongest always want to impose their will on others. This Western attitude is rarely shared by other humans. Cooperation has proven to be far more effective than exploitation and the revolutions it provokes. This is the message that the Chinese have tried to propagate by talking about “win-win” relationships. It was not about fair trade relations, but about the way the Chinese emperors governed: when an emperor issued a decree, he had to ensure that it was followed by the governors of each province, including those who were not affected by the decision. AMARYNTH—The Minsk agreements were a series of international agreements which sought to end the shelling into what was called at the time, the Donbas regions of the Ukraine, after these regions (Lugansk and Donetsk) declared that they would stand separate from the Ukraine and would not accept the 2014 Maidan color revolution or the overthrow of the then Ukrainian president Yanukovych. We have such vivid memories of the time, as Victoria Nuland carried cookies to the protestors at the Maidan, and we have her appointing a new leader for the Ukraine: “Yats is our man! F… the EU”. RAMIN MAZAHERI—But since when has American politics made moral sense? America has always been a deeply reactionary country – its founding revolution was merely against foreign control and not in favor of a progressive reordering of society – and thus its politics has always been defined by hypocrisy, zero memory and even less understanding of this thing we share called human history. The Democrats’ Russophobia made Russia the target, but the Democratic Party’s truly autocratic and anti-democratic commitment to “forever war” is the root cause of their undeniable electoral defeat this week.
