Politics like economics are planned, mostly years in advance with the consequences calculated. Serendipity is excluded. Foreign policies are created in Langley, not Washington. The White House exists as a conduit for the necessary propaganda designed to keep the citizenry in order. Since Langley personnel are appointed, no true reckoning to the public of its actions is needed. The present events in the Levant were planned in Langley with the cooperation of Jerusalem (it is doubtful that much reaction will come from Iran). Like the plans for inclusion of Ukraine into NATO, the consolidation of Eretz Israel is aimed at forming a totalitarian bloc from river to sea (like NATO as one impenetrable entity). It is part of the encapsulation of those regions that will enforce spheres of US influence (Europe) and the Arab Middle East as counterbalance to the Eastern powers. The human factor does not measure in as seen in the enormous loss of Ukraine and Gaza lives. The Israeli army is not a conscript one, but a civil guard-like force and reflects the opinion of its people in contrast to the US army which needs enormous costs to stay operable. That is why in the future the US may retract its bases and rely on fortresses Europe and Israel. Circling the wagons is the future of US foreign policies.
The US government has always made use of the territorial isolation of North America, invincible as a difficult to enter fortress (aside from 1814). The result is that there is a provinciality in thinking in the population at large that occupies itself mostly with inland politics, grand and small. Instead of being able to have a clear mental attitude towards understanding the world beyond the seas (and below Texas). Although Americans are like any other people in the world, they appear easy to lead (vide White House journalism) and seem half-informed when in the company of a man like Xi with his small sly intelligent eyes. The shock comes when it is realized by foreign leaders that the US bonhomie often hides in its homegrown politicians the maliciousness of hardheaded commercial materialism, ignoring the ‘old-fashioned’ careful bargaining of polite diplomacy. It has resulted in destructive wargames costing very many people their lives.
