EDITOR—Garland and Dr Monteiro discuss the tremendous (and sudden) changes to the management of the US empire taking place, and what they represent for the nation and the world. While not vouching for Trump’s intentions, they recognise there has been a monumental shift in the direction of the Empire, until recently, in the hands of the Biden regime, a corrupt and criminal clique continuing a suicidal Ukraine war policy of constant nuclear brinkmanship against Russia, along with unremitting hostility and aggression. All that may have stopped, they agree, which is a welcome reprieve for humanity, but they are uncertain what the Trumpian policies will ultimately denote, more freedom or tyranny. Meantime, Garland and Dr Monteiro advise the “left” (such as it is in the US, actually, for the most part a bunch of globalist-authoritarian WOKE-drenched PMCs) to abandon their knee-jerk Trump “derangement syndrome,” and learn to support or criticice each policy advanced on the basis of merits and accomplishments.

OLIVER BOYD-BARRETT—The US chose the proxy NATO war with Russia over China. Actually, it would be more accurate to say that it manufactured the war. A recent article in TIME, discussed below, confirms the projection of the 1999 RAND report on Extending Russia. The purpose was not even to win the war, merely to “extend” Russia. We shall see if Trump is successful in bringing this conflict to an end. I am skeptical that his neocon supporters will allow such an outcome or that, should he be sincere in his claims that he wants to end the conflict, he will be allowed to articulate the only terms that would be necessary to close on the deal, since these terms have to do less with Ukraine and much more about a reformulation of the global security architecture, something that either Trump himself, or his base, or both, will find unpalatable.

JOHN VAROLI—Trump said he wants to go down in history as a peacemaker, yet he lacks a basic understanding of the issues in the Ukraine-Russia war since he is fed false information. Unable to formulate intelligent and accurate opinions, Trump won’t be able to conclude peace with Russia.
While many Russians would like for “life to return to normal”, they need to abandon such hopes. The West crossed the proverbial Rubicon in spring 2022 when it ordered Zelensky to fight Russia to the bitter end. The goal of the West remains — to accomplish what the Nazis couldn’t, the destruction of Russia and the conquest and pillage of its lands.
