PAUL EDWARDS—We live in a classic, but adapted and evolved, fascist state, in which the whole force of government is devoted solely to the interests of Imperialist Capitalism. Behind that system, as deeply entrenched through its near absolute control of public information organs as dogmatic religion, towers the formidable military and police apparatus that, as always in absolutisms, is the blindly loyal and morally neutered enforcement arm of our tyranny.

PETER KOENIG—These days simultaneous protests take place in Victor Orbán’s Hungary, in Belgium, with the Prime Minister, Charles Michel, having just resigned, leaving again a country without government. In Germany, Merkel is slowly fading away – but who will follow? – In Italy, Deputy, PM Salvini, of the junior partner of the popular (not the derogatory ‘populist’) coalition, the extreme right-wing Lega Norte, is calling the shots – and they are clearly as anti-EU as can be. At issue is foremost Brussels unilateral meddling in Italy’s budget, while other countries, like France, who have been running budget deficits for years, are getting away with a soft call to attention (Macron naturally is Brussels Holy Child). – Will Italy succeed bringing and end to this unholy non-Union?

CHRISTOPHER C BLACK—But what is this “international order” except a world order of brutality, war and bribes, in which the liberties of the people are smashed and aggression and coercion are the primary tools of control. The Americans speak of their attempt to dominate the world as if it is a sacred thing, a gift from the gods, and presume to act as if they themselves are gods and any nation or people that rejects their domination are anathema, to be excommunicated from the international order, the mighty church of US imperialism, until they fall in line or are destroyed. Anyone who does not fall in line is automatically “authoritarian” and a rebel against their mafia “world order.”

JIM KAVANAGH—That ideological formation sets the American working class up for capture by the two proudly capitalist parties—today, by Trumpian right-wing faux populism through which working-class anger is eaten by the reactionary Republican party; yesterday and tomorrow, by kindler, gentler, “we’re capitalist and that’s just the way it is” Clintonism, through which working-class anger is euthanized by the Democratic party.
