Illustrating beautifully, how corporate media has become little more than a propaganda mouthpiece for the State of the US regime is an article from the NYT on 1/2/2020 in which the NYT speculates over a strike on Qassem.
In fact that’s a bit of a lie. The mainstream media hasn’t been recently coopted by corporate interest. The CIA has been handling journalists for decades now. A recent journalist in Germany came clean after taking money from the CIA for decades in which he wrote a book entitled Journalists for Hire: How the CIA Buys the News.
Whilst the book is readily available in Germany the English translation was bought by Amazon then the price jacked up to $923.90. Which I guess beautifully illustrates how distribution is tightly controlled in capitalist society.
Moreover, hypersonics are a weaponized moral hazard for states with a taste for intervention, because they erase barriers to picking fights. Is an adversary building something that might be a weapons factory? Is there an individual in an unfriendly country who cannot be apprehended? What if the former commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, Qassem Soleimani, visits Baghdad for a meeting and you know the address? The temptations to use hypersonic missiles will be many. — NYT, 1/2/2020, Hypersonic Missiles Are a Game Changer
So entwined with the US regime the NY Times has had advanced notice of this strike. Perhaps we could conclude this as a bizarre coincidence had they not referred to Qassem Soleimani as “former commander”.
The United States Destroyed Iranian Democracy To Prop Up Their Oil Interests
The overthrow of Mossadegh in 1953 was the ruination of Iranian democracy in favour of British and American oil interests. In March 1951 the Prime Minister of Iran, elected and with huge popular support, began nationalising Iranian oil that the British had [long] been stealing for pennies on the pound.
As the prime minister had anticipated, the British did not take the national
Nation grace-fully, though it was supported unanimously by the Iranian parliament and by the overwhelming majority of the Iranian people for reasons of both economic justice and national pride. The Mossadegh government tried to do all the right things to placate the British: It offered to set aside 25 percent of the net profits of the oil operation as compensation; it guaranteed the safety and the jobs of the British employees; it was willing to sell its oil without disturbance to the tidy control system so dear to the hearts of the international oil giants. But the British would have none of it.
What they wanted was their oil company back. And they wanted Mossadegh's head. A servant does not affront his lord with impunity.
A military show of force by the British navy was followed by a ruthless
international economic blockade and boycott, and a freezing of Iranian assets which brought Iran's oil exports and foreign trade to a virtual standstill, plunged the already impoverished country into near destitution, and made payment of any compensation impossible. Nonetheless, and long after they had moved to oust Mossadegh, the British demanded compensation not only for the physical assets of the AIOC, but for the value of their enterprise in developing the oil fields; a request impossible to meet, and, in the eyes of Iranian nationalists, something which decades of huge British profits had paid for many times over.

After strangling the country via economic blockade (what the US is currently doing to Cuba/Venezuela and DPRK).
Against NATO, The United States Is A Perpetual War Machine
Nato represents a violent spasm of neverending war. The United States has existed for 244 years and has been at war for 227 of those years.
This represents a country that has been at war 93% of it’s existence. Nato represents military hegemony of the United States in the same way the economic arms of war are represented by the World Bank and the IMF.
Antiwar activists should now posit themselves in direct opposition to Nato. Americans themselves should position themselves as anti-nato and immediately work on antiwar activism in the US in an attempt to paralyse their insane war machine.
Support For Iran Should Be Loud And Clear
Oh you have some problems with the Iranian government? Shut the fuck up shitlib now is not the time. The Iranian people deserve full and unconditional support against the aggressor regime, the United States. The US does not go into war just to kick in doors, torture people against international laws, let psychopaths murder children and women with knives then pardon them of what is clear war crimes.
The US Uses Each Theatre Of War To Chemically Experiment On People
From Vietnam with United States Agent Orange which poisoned generations of Vietnamese to Yugoslavia and the use of depleted uranium which saw Serbia become the cancer capital of Europe.
“The bombings were carried out absolutely deliberately, and pursued certain goals. Kosovo is a geographical phenomenon, as rivers originating in this region flow into three seas — the Aegean, the Black and the Adriatic seas. Therefore, Nato used depleted uranium to bomb a small region, but managed to contaminate three seas. Those seas are connected to oceans, so it is evident that the pollution was of a planetary scale,” the expert went on.
“It was clear that the war is over, that even one bomb is redundant, let alone two. However, those bombs were dropped for the sake of an in vivo experiment. It is clear why depleted uranium munitions were used in Kosovo — it was also an in vivo experiment to see how a vast region can be contaminated through a river system,” he said. (Nato use of depleted uranium in bombing Yugoslavia was ecocide on planetary scale — expert, TASS, October 05 2018)
In Iraq the use of depleted uranium was used on civilians indiscriminately at the disgust of British military officers and its health effects were considered worse than Hiroshima.
In the assault US commanders largely treated Fallujah as a free-fire zone to try to reduce casualties among their own troops. British officers were appalled by the lack of concern for civilian casualties. “During preparatory operations in the November 2004 Fallujah clearance operation, on one night over 40 155mm artillery rounds were fired into a small sector of the city,” recalled Brigadier Nigel Aylwin-Foster, a British commander serving with the American forces in Baghdad.
The study, entitled “Cancer, Infant Mortality and Birth Sex-Ratio in Fallujah, Iraq 2005–2009”, is by Dr Busby, Malak Hamdan and Entesar Ariabi, and concludes that anecdotal evidence of a sharp rise in cancer and congenital birth defects is correct. Infant mortality was found to be 80 per 1,000 births compared to 19 in Egypt, 17 in Jordan and 9.7 in Kuwait. The report says that the types of cancer are “similar to that in the Hiroshima survivors who were exposed to ionising radiation from the bomb and uranium in the fallout”.
—Independent, 24 July 2010, Toxic legacy of US assault on Fallujah ‘worse than Hiroshima’
The United States is a dangerous rogue state that has long been testing chemical weapons on innocent civilians. From their bombings of Bikini Island, displacing the inhabitants then moving them back there to test the effects of radiation on humans, to Yugoslavia and Iraq.
The United States is a rogue state and anything but a denunciation of it’s actions toward Iran should be met with resounding derision.

^5000The mainstream imperialist media lie CONSTANTLY. Literally 24/7. And it's getting worse.
All of them do it: radio, tv, the newspapers, the movies. The internet. No exceptions.
The corporate Big Lie is pervasive and totalitarian. CBS does it. NBC does it. ABC does it.
CNN does it. FOX does it. NPR does it. And of course the NYTimes and WaPo do it.
Thousands of "diverse" voices telling you the same lies. Enough to convince anyone.
