Actually listening to what leaders like Xi Jinping or Vladimir Putin say would be useful if the West really cared. Instead they make up stories to fit in with their already formed prejudices and assume that the “autocrtic leaders” are also liars as the western leaders are.
Rosemerry, they can avoid facing reality only so far…eventually reality will force them to re-evaluate their posture (if not what they continue to think inside their rotten treacherous minds).
China is state capitalist. Even Thatcher recognised this: ‘There is only one economic system in the world, and that is capitalism. The difference lies in whether the capital is in the hands of the State or whether the greater part of it is in the hands of people outside of State control,’ ( House of Commons speech, 24 November, 1976). Capitalist hallmarks, such as class society, commodity production, profit motive, exploitation of wage labour, markets, etc., exist there as they do worldwide.
Since when are genuine communists quoting a capitalist vampire like Thatcher as an authority on truthful politics?
Adam Smith’s proto-idea regarding short term capitalism on a microeconomic scale, of profit incentivised competition to improve goods and services, had some merit behind it, even though there never was such a thing as the “invisible hand”.
Long term Capitalism on a macroeconomic scale however has VERY different consequences, the inevitable result being that the most profitable businesses swallow up all the others, resulting in oligarchy or monopoly, which then results in price gouging and extortionate profiteering, squeezing the consumer to death.
The USA is now at late stage Capitalism, the end result of which will be violent societal implosion and collapse. If Americans are lucky they may experience a communist revolution, which may ultimately allow rejuvenation.
China admits to now being at an intermediate stage of “socialism with Chinese characteristics”, the ultimate goal being the fairest possible distribution of moderate prosperity throughout the entire Chinese population, otherwise known as Communism.
Newsflash: the Chinese have never actually been capitalists, they merely used some aspects of capitalism to achieve long term Communism, which was always their aim.
The revolution is ongoing, which requires culling of certain oligarchs from time to time. Far better to re-educate or imprison or even execute selected corrupt megalomaniacal rapacious oligarchs on occasion, to enable the poorest in the country to breathe, rather than go down the swirling plughole of end stage Capitalism.
