DH—Israel is scrambling to push Trump & his administration back into immediate strike mode as Iran’s military capabilities trigger a major reversal toward “talks”. Scott Ritter & Garland Nixon join the show to discuss what all of this means not just for the region but the empire and world at large.

SCF—U.S. President Donald Trump this week repeated his threat to launch a blitzkrieg on Iran, bragging that an armada led by the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier was in place to strike. “Don’t make me do it,” warned Trump with thug-like menace.

Meanwhile, the European Union declared Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps a “foreign terrorist” organization. Given that the IRGC is a central component of Iran’s national security forces, the EU’s blacklisting is effectively designating the Iranian state as a terrorist entity. The EU’s provocation is paving the way for American aggression and all-out war, which will have devastating consequences, not least of all for Europe.

Washington and Europe are ostensibly basing their hostility towards Tehran on dubious claims that the Iranian authorities have committed systematic atrocities in repressing peaceful protesters in Iran demanding political change.

Trump has urged Iranians to keep protesting and vowed that “help is on the way.”

KARL SANCHEZ—Personal happenings have calmed to the point where I found space to comment on the current episode of Outlaw US Empire drama over Iran. Lots of info about the minutiae of “Great Armada” exploits and the war against Iranian civilians launched by CIA and Mossad along with help from the Fed and other Western financial behemoths and how that was resolved via the Star Link bust-up and resulting law enforcement efforts by Iranian authorities. Iran has stated that 3,000 of its people died at the hands of Outlaw US Empire terrorists. There’s this excellent listing of news reports that speaks volumes at Alastair Crooke’s substack that deals with much of that. This however is a different comment made by me in response to one of the newer people commentators at Moon of Alabama who wrote: “Ever[y]body paints the US as holding all the power over Iran, but what if Iran shifts to aggression mode and takes the upper hand?”

JULIAN MACFARLANE—Some people disputed my comments in previous posts about the unlikelihood of an American military assault on Iran citing Jeffrey Sachs, the economist who advised Gorbachev and Yeltsin on destroying the Russian economy. “Nuff” said about Sachs!

Suffice to say, he has rather less authority in the military sphere than Professor Ichi and Professor Chappy, who practice fighting every day. But it seems that I was right, and I am officially y’know “disabled” according to Johns Hopkins.

GD—Potential Consequences of War: Iran’s retaliation would not be limited to US military bases but would extend to American interests and allied regimes in the region, including family dictatorships in the Persian Gulf and Azerbaijan, which supported US and Israeli actions.
Energy exports from the Persian Gulf, Caucasus, and Red Sea would be severely disrupted, triggering a global economic crisis.
Despite US claims of energy independence, the ripple effects of such disruption would cause catastrophic economic damage domestically and globally, affecting consumers, factories, and families.
Marandi suggests the best outcome would be for Trump to back off and pursue peaceful resolution, similar to his withdrawal from the Yemen conflict, where he declared a symbolic victory despite defeat.
