EDITOR—The panel discusses the various ways the ruling elites in the US and the West manipulate ideas and concepts to control mass consciousness about sensitive topics, especially in foreign policy, while hiding the true face of capitalism and imperialism, and the horrific costs it imposes around the globe and at home, as Americans are finally beginning to understand. Discussed: Syrian history and recent developments, nature of the “Syrian regime”; the West’s losing competition with China due to her superiority in socioeconomic and political organization (central planning, etc.); ditto for Russia, and how well applied Marxism is not dogmatic but pragmatic (allowing for capitalist firms to operate under party control); ideological concepts used opportunistically by the US ruling class to control the narrative (“branding”—like who gets called “dictator”, “authoritarian”, “ally”, etc.); mythology of US exceptionalism to justify supremacism/hegemonism; moral superiority; informational confusion and work pressures hindering mass awakening by ordinary citizens, etc. 

BRIAN BERLETIC and ANGELO GIULIANO discuss all the difficult to sort out and discern historical vectors that led to this point of Syrian collapse, a tragedy carefully planned for and scripted by US/NATO thinktanks, whose sponsors are now busily trying to implement the next part of their schemes to provoke and bring down Iran. How will Russia (and China) react to THAT domino is now the big question facing the world, and especially the BRICS alliance.

THE NEW ATLAS—Brian and Angelo are cautious regarding recent events in the Middle East. They believe the US Hegemon (with Israel’s conscious or objective assist) may be playing intricate and highly devious games to detonate a regionwide conflagration. Hamas, for one thing, may have been chosen by Israel and the US to play a divisive role among Palestinian factions, while maintaining the image of a fanatical anti-Israeli threat, eventually even allowing Oct. 7 attacks to permit Israel and the US to flatten Gaza, and provoke Iran and other members of the anti-Zionist/imperialist alliance to step in, thereby justifying, again a reasonable “response” that would destroy Iran and the forces resisting Western hegemony. In that sense, Oct 7 would be analogous to 9/11, a pretext to launch a vast imperialist campaign.
