MoA—Early this morning Minnesota State Police had come back to the scene. It arrested a dark skinned CNN reporter in front of the running camera (vid). The reporter had asked the police where they wanted his crew to setup. He did not get a response. No reason for his arrest was given. Another CNN reporter, this one of white color, was also approached by police but was permitted to stay:
US LAWLESSNESS
George Floyd’s murder enraged people who have seen too many deaths as a result of police violence. The murder in broad daylight with cameras filming and scores of witnesses showed the impunity of police who are used to not being held accountable for their violence. During the uprising, police have used extreme violence and targeted people with cameras and the media even saying they were the problem. The root of the problem is a failed state that does not represent the people and has a deep history of racism and inequality.
Political pawn or guilty as charged? Extradition trial of Huawei CFO Meng Wanzhou gets underway in Vancouver
16 minutes readROBERT BRIDGE—Trudeau, who does not strike me as a chess player, expressed his “extreme concern” at the decision, which really should have come as no surprise. The Schellenberg case was clearly a show trial to give Beijing some leverage in freeing Meng Wanzhou, and now it will be very interesting to see how Trudeau responds. Will he cave in to US demands and extradite Meng, or will he hold onto the Chinese national in a possible exchange agreement for the three Canadians?
ERIC ZUESSE—American taxpayers spend $3.8 billion per year as a donation to Israel’s military. Every American (including all recent Presidents) who has participated in imposing that burden upon us is a traitor, and so too is every American who has hidden or tried to hide from the American public the reality, instead of the duty to prosecute it. This Government, by such liars, rapes the minds of the American people.
It is a thoroughly bipartisan rape. For example, the Obama Administration was working likewise to block independence for a separate Palestinian state; only their tactics were different (because they represented Democratic Party billionaires, instead of — like Trump — Republican Party billionaires).
FINIAN CUNNINGHAM—There is strong suspicion that the Trump administration is deliberately playing the mad man as a negotiating tactic. It’s an unconscionable and extremely dangerous gamble with world security, but this would seem to be Trump’s diabolical art of the deal.
