I have not lived half of my life in China, just a substantial part of it. And I can confirm Dongping's words about freedom in China.

I did not live in China during the Cultural Revolution, but more recently.

Chinese police on patrol.

I have been to some 30 countries all over the globe. In China to more than 50 cities, counties and villages.

I confirm that the police in China is there to serve the people. Nowhere else I have seen such friendly helpful police officers.

Each time, when I get off the airplane in China, even after all these years, I feel a surge of joy, a feeling of real freedom and democracy. I can't express it in words, can't catch it on a photo. I have no idea how to show or explain it to western people.

I am trying to do that in my travel reports at my website, but I'm afraid they don't understand it.

There is more real freedom and democracy in China than in all the west European countries combined.

It will take time for the brainwashed westerners to understand this.
