Nuneaton and Warwickshire Wildlife Sanctuary
This is Dawn, one of the Nuneaton and Warwickshire Wildlife Sanctuary’s 6 resident foxes that cannot be returned to the wild. The majority of animals we get in is injured wildlife that is aimed to be returned into the wild, however, Dawn was a young fox that was took into a dog rescue centre as the member of public that found her thought she was a dog! When they realised they bought her into us but it was too late, because she was too tame and this meant that she wouldn’t be able to look after herself in the wild. Dawn is not a pet, and we do not recommend any fox or wild animal as a pet.

Just days after a wild sea otter gave birth to an adorable little pup at the Great Tide Pool at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, the two love to snuggle together. The newborn pup tries to sleep while laying on top of her mom floating in the tide pool. The wild California sea otter sought refuge at the pool to give birth to the baby. The mom has spent time grooming and fluffing her newborn’s fur to help her float. The aquarium says the duo will stay in the area before heading back into the wild.

If only these lovely snipets of animals showing affection would make a dent in the malicious, violence of dominion…
Those who care about animals try with all their might to portray animals favorably… all this is irrelevant to the menace of biblical dominion:
Genesis 9:1-3 “The fear and dread of you shall rest on every animal of the earth, and on every bird of the air, on everything that creeps on the ground, and on all the fish in the sea; into your hand they are delivered. Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you; and just as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything.'”
It will take a complete revocation of dominion… and the religions that foster it…. to ever achieve meaningful compassion for animals that honors their lives as having inherent value… not contingent on human advantage… and all the excuses, justifications of dominion, that enable, sanctify and lend an air of righteousness to animal abuse.
It will take a new (to the west) / yet ancient view to persuade the stewards of dominion to end their relentless desecration of animal lives… It will take AHIMSA:
“All things breathing, all things existing, all living beings whatever, would not be slain or treated with violence, or insulted, or tortured or driven away. This is the pure unchanging eternal law, which the wise ones who know the world have proclaimed…” Jain Acharanga Sutra
“He who harms animals has not understood or renounced deeds of sin…He who understands the nature of sin against animals is called a Sage.” Jain Acharanga Sutra
