A Real Russian Threat?
The American population is bombarded with lies from every corner—24/7
[dropcap]B[/dropcap]efore television and the Internet age, Winston Churchill said: “A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.” Today it circulates worldwide almost instantly – how the power of propaganda works. Disinformation, Big Lies and fake news repeated enough gets most people to believe utter rubbish, no matter how many previous times they were duped.
Fact: Russia threatens no one – not America or any other countries.
Fact: Since the Russian Federation was created after the Soviet Union’s dissolution, it never attacked another country.
Fact: America, NATO, Israel, and their rogue allies do it repeatedly, attacking nations [which are] threatening no one – falsely pretending naked aggression is all about protecting their national security.
During a Thursday press conference, DNI Daniel Coats, FBI director Christopher Wray, NSA director Paul Nakasone, DHS secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, and John Bolton lied about Russia posing an existential threat to America – knowing no such threat exists.
According to the Russophobic NYT, they “vowed Thursday to defend American elections against what they called real threats from Russia” – invented, not legitimate ones. The neocon CIA house organ Washington Post said America’s “(t)op national security officials…vow(ed) that the Trump administration has made combating interference a priority ahead of the midterms in November” – despite knowing no electoral meddling threat exists.
The Wall Street Journal said “(s)enior intelligence officials described Russian efforts to interfere in the 2018 midterm elections as deep, real and ongoing, showcasing their efforts to combat a threat President Trump has repeatedly dismissed and played down.”
"No malign behavior by Russia or any nations exists against America. The official narrative, regurgitated by media scoundrels, is a bald-faced lie..."
Thursday’s press conference was long on accusations, bereft of evidence, none revealed about alleged Russian US election meddling or any other Kremlin threats because none exist. Endless false accusations against Russia, China, Iran, Syria, and other sovereign independent nations are all about creating and maintaining a state of mass hysteria about nonexistent threats.
It’s done to justify unjustifiable militarism, aggressive wars, along with homeland repression against the nation’s most disadvantaged and unwanted aliens. Americans are manipulated to accept eroding freedoms and social justice for greater security – unaware they’re being lost.
No malign behavior by Russia or any nations exists against America. The official narrative, regurgitated by media scoundrels, is a bald-faced lie.
Washington needs enemies to justify the imperial state, countless trillions of dollars spent on militarism, warmaking, and so-called “homeland security.”
Since no enemies exist, they’re invented, Russia bashed most of all. Putin/Trump Helsinki summit talks achieved nothing – nor will further talks ahead, if held.
America’s bipartisan criminal class fosters global conflicts and chaos. Peace and stability defeat its imperial agenda. Russia remains Washington’s leading adversary – invented and maintained for imperial reasons, not legitimate ones.
Designating Russia a State Sponsor of Terrorism?
Russophobic undemocratic Dems and likeminded Republicans want Pompeo to decide whether the State Department should designate Russia a state sponsor of terrorism. The idea is unlikely to gain majority support, but proposing it is another example of how low what passes for governance in Washington has sunk – more evidence of a deeply corrupted political cesspool too debauched to fix.
Fact: America is the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism, waging endless wars on humanity at home and abroad, oppressing its own most disadvantaged citizens, mistreating unwanted aliens like fifth column threats.
Fact: Russia supports world peace and stability, along with mutual cooperation among all nations.
Fact: America opposes these notions. It prioritizes militarism and belligerence, wanting planet earth colonized, its resources controlled, and populations exploited – a nation serving its privileged few exclusively, increasingly unsafe and unfit to live in.
Last April, the Russophobic NYT gave neocon extremist Senator Cory Gardner feature op-ed space, saying “(t)he State Department should consider adding the country to its list of state sponsors of terrorism, alongside its close allies Iran and Syria,” adding:
“The moral case for such a designation is sound. Russia has invaded its neighbors Georgia and Ukraine, it supports…Bashar al-Assad and our enemies in Afghanistan, and it is engaged in active information warfare against Western democracies, including meddling in the 2016 United States elections.”
All of the above are despicable bald-faced lies, repeated time and again by congressional and media Russophobes.
In April, Gardner introduced legislation, requiring the State Department to compile a report to Congress within 90 days of the bill’s enactment to determine whether Russia meets the criteria for designating it a state sponsor of terrorism. Currently Iran, Syria, North Korea and Sudan are falsely labeled this way.
Brookings functions as a reliable imperial mouthpiece. Its center for Middle East policy senior fellow Daniel Byman, an unapologetic Russophobe, disgracefully called Russia “a sponsor of terrorism.”
He falsely accused the Kremlin of violent actions it had nothing to do with, while ignoring indisputable US state-sponsored terrorism worldwide – its endless wars of aggression, along with supporting ISIS and likeminded terrorist groups, using them as imperial proxies in Syria, Iraq and elsewhere.
In June, Russophobic Senator Mike Coffman introduced legislation, calling for Russia to be designated as a state sponsor of terror.
Following Putin/Trump Helsinki summit talks, Russophobic Senators Robert Menendez, Marco Rubio and Ben Sasse disgracefully called for designating Russia a state sponsor of terrorism.
On August 2, Russophobic Senators Cory Gardner, Lindsey Graham, Robert Menendez, Ben Cardin, John McCain (on his death bed), and Jeanne Shaheen (three Republicans and three undemocratic Dems) introduced the Defending American Security from Kremlin Aggression Act of 2018.
It calls for “increas(ing) economic, political, and diplomatic pressure on the Russian Federation in response to Russia’s continued interference in our elections, malign influence in Syria, aggression in Crimea, and other activities.”
It requires determining whether Russia meets the criteria for designating the country a state sponsor of terrorism.
It calls for imposing tough sanctions on Russian political officials and others for “facilitat(ing) illicit and corrupt activities, directly or indirectly, on behalf of Vladimir Putin.”
It imposes “sanctions on transactions related to investment in energy projects supported by Russia state-owned or parastatal entities (as well as on) transactions relating to new sovereign debt of the Russian Federation.”
It prohibits US companies and individuals from “engag(ing) in activities relating to certain projects to produce oil in the Russian Federation.” It establishes a State Department cyberspace office to deter cyber threats.
It falsely accuses Russia of obstructing international efforts to investigate CW attacks, along with wanting the Kremlin punished for CW production and use.
In October 2017, Russia completed the destruction of its entire CW stockpile – verified by OPCW inspectors.
America breached its pledge to eliminate its own CWs, the world’s largest stockpile, over 2,500 tons, according to Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov, adding:
What does the US intend to do with its “carefully kept weapons of mass destruction banned for others. It seems they need them for something.” The above measure includes other Russophobic provisions. Its sponsors falsely accused the Kremlin of intending to meddle in November US midterm elections.
Russophobic hysteria by Congress and America’s media escalated post-Helsinki summit talks.
Washington’s bipartisan criminal class is intensifying political and economic war on Russia. Is hot war coming next?
