All of them do it: radio, tv, the newspapers, the movies. The internet. No exceptions.
The corporate Big Lie is pervasive and totalitarian. CBS does it. NBC does it. ABC does it.
CNN does it. FOX does it. NPR does it. And of course the NYTimes and WaPo do it.
Thousands of "diverse" voices telling you the same lies. Enough to convince anyone.

Many who talk about the Google/Facebook censorship and surveillance issue, seem to be still clinging to the idea that we can somehow “reclaim” the integrity of these sites through rebellion. This
is simply not realistic.
It’s time for people to admit to themselves that there is only one way to fix the problem… STOP USING
THESE SITES AND THEIR SERVICES!
These sites need to be abandoned and their trackers need to be denied access to your computers. If
enough people do it, that will deny them the revenue to continue, and stop the mining of any more of your data, and the tracking of your activity.
I understand that people have gotten used to “relying” on these companies, and many have built their publishing worlds through them and have followers. But, these sites do not make up, in any way, the “final frontier”. They can be REPLACED. Time to move on, and start looking into the newer forms of encrypted communication, file sharing, and social media built on platforms that cannot sell you out, even if they wanted to.
Sites that built their empires on your info and your trust, should be remaining loyal to YOU. If they want to act as another arm of the State, they should be abandoned and left to die.
Agreed. Couldn’t have said this better. The less corporations that have control of your info, the better.
I have a Facebook account that I use only when I need to be able to log in to see something that I wouldn’t be able to otherwise. I’ve no profile…no nothing else on FB. I do not, even rarely, go to FB for news or social interaction.
With regard to Google, once in a while I’ll use their search engine. Otherwise, I use a variety of innocuous search engines, such as DuckDuckGo. I’ve allowed none of Google’s software to be installed on my machines. I don’t need Chrome. It’s a lousy piece of bloated software that’s intended to control you. Same thing goes for Internet Exporer.
When I work with groups on political issues, we build our own Website using a hosting service, which costs us about $100 per year.
We need to quit these “social media” companies cold-turkey, just like quitting smoking, sugar, etc. Let them die…well said.
So there are choices. Maybe the most obvious is VK, which is the Russian face book, I don’t think they will censor stuff favoring Russian or Chinese point of view. Or there is Mewe and Steemit. Maybe others.
