The American Empire, long in the tooth, sclerotic, unconsciously moribund, is bound and determined to force a showdown war on reluctant and prudent Russia and China. As erstwhile hegemon, it can’t abide the idea of not being, as in days of yore, Number 1.
With that intent, it has directed vast sums to its owners, the giant War Machine mafias, to build what our Presidents always swear is the most powerful military in the history of the world.
That is affirmed by our current slob CEO, who is directing the expertise which failed utterly to subdue some of the poorest nations on earth, in mini-aggressions on several similar victims in hopes it may work better now, and assuage his aggrieved ego.
His mighty forces have sunk a dozen civilian motorboats with their crews, bombed some goatherds in Nigeria, kidnapped the head of one weak state and threatened several, while menacing Denmark, Mexico, and Canada. His badgering of Russia and China has not had any appreciable effect, but he fumbles on.
He operates from a position of supreme confidence and solid security, knowing that The Empire he runs, as Capone ran Chicago, is perfectly equipped and ready… for World War Two.
What he and his bonehead military brass cannot conceive is that the next war will not be a re-run. It will not be fought in the same way, with the same tactics and gear that was used against Nazis and Japanese or, for that matter, North Koreans or Vietnamese.
It will have little or nothing to do with the technology that was dominant and decisive in the 20th century, and this is no radical revelation. It has been true of wars since Greece and Rome and before. Weaponry and tactics evolve without human intention, responding to need, and warring mankind always has to adjust itself to the new realities that science and engineering dictate.
Billy Mitchell, a great ace of experimental use of aircraft in WWI, was convinced that airplanes would have a tremendous role in future warfare. He led an uphill fight against heavyweight Navy and Army brass resistance to make his case, demonstrating his planes’ lethal effect in bombing runs on the era’s battleships.
His hard battles with military and political animosity led finally to his court martial, demotion, and resignation. Pearl Harbor and WWII totally vindicated his vision, cleared his name, and proved decisively that those dunderheads who balked and rebuked him were men of frozen ideas, captive minds, and lack of foresight.
Trump and his chiefs have put their money into three traditional war fighting elements: a massive naval force of giant carriers and warships, an air wing of stealth fighter/bombers, and a variety of highly trained, specialized units—Seals, Rangers, and Delta Force—expert in fast insertion and counter terrorism actions.
This triad was developed out of the brutal education of WWII, refined and shaped by lessons from Korea and Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan. It was a combination that would have been just the ticket in WWII, and will be totally useless in World War III.
The phenomenal development in missiles and hypersonics has rendered the massive arsenals of land and sea war machines and the power of the best trained military units completely immaterial.
There are sound reasons this is so. Wars have always been won by a combination of weapons and their speed of delivery. Spears and lances gave way to arrows and cavalry, which fell to firearms. Those gained function and variety, and air power and bombing then supplemented sophisticated artillery and mobile platforms.
In WWII, war on land and sea depended on huge concentrations of armies supported by the firepower and mobility of aircraft, tanks, and giant warships, with outcomes determined by the power to assemble the most and bring it all into engagement.
Astonishing advancement of missile technology has rendered all of it irrelevant. Masses of men, ships, land machinery, and guns are all useless against evasive, precision hypersonic missiles.
War, when it occurs—and it will—will involve immediate and total destruction of all such concentrations, along with supply chains, and it will be done at a speed unimaginable before. Whether it is, after great destruction, containable, or will be pursued until the existence of all humanity is jeopardized, can not be predicted.
The full significance of this radical alteration of warfare is lost on the propagandized, pedestrian minds that will have to wage it, and is not even imagined by the dull military elite of The Empire. Consequently, they will continue to prepare for the last major war, as big powers have always done, as they did with Billy Mitchell.
Unlike in pure experimental science, or even innovative business, imagination and creative thinking are never rewarded and always stifled and penalized in the military by the pedestrian minds that succeed in that rote, routinized racket, and with the brash and hamstringing complicity of visionless, parochial politicians.
Those powerful men who have historically sent millions to squalid deaths in war are never brought to account and forced to answer for their blind, doctrinaire arrogance. In our country, The Senile Empire, they are made millionaires and occasionally Presidents.
In the coming world war, untold millions of innocent people will die because political and military panjandrums can not envision the scale and horror of their hubris, or the magnitude of suffering that will occur due to their regimented, morally stunted minds.
Sherman said, “War is Hell”. He understated it.
Court Martialed For Being Right! Colonel Billy Mitchell, The Father Of The United States Air Force
He was court martialed for being right, as he predicted the attack on Pearl Harbor by the Japanese in WW2. The story of William "Billy" Mitchell, the father of the United States Air Force. Contains rare historical footage, the biography of Jimmy Doolittle, and the Doolittle Raid, as the North American B-25 takes his name after Colonel Mitchell.
THE MOURNING OF MCCAIN
The commedia dell’arte mourning of McCain is in full bloom. In a vulgar orgy of pompous, bathetic praise from Congress and the media, he is being piously canonized. To counter this shameless obsequy by attacking him for what he actually was would be an exercise in futility, just as the endless ad hominem hatchet jobs on Trump accomplish nothing. It’s more useful to examine the grisly American disease of which he was a champion and cynosure. The son and grandson of Admirals, a bred-in-the- bone military man, he flew a fighter in Vietnam. Shot down–and amazingly not summarily executed–he was held as a POW, and became a lifelong advocate of unlimited use of military force for American world domination. Nothing unusual in that. It is and has been the baseline political credo of all American politicians since Monroe, at least, up to and including Trump, Hillary, Sanders, and Warren. The surest way to the graveyard for political hopefuls is to be seen or slimed as “soft on defense”. The fact that actual defense of the country has not been necessary since the War of 1812, and is not now, and that the hoax only exists to suck our national wealth into the War Machine has not been effectively articulated. The idea, false to its core, that America must spend astronomic sums to “defend” its polity and its people has taken on the character of revealed religion in a country where multitudes believe in angels and Endtimes. This appropriation of the wealth of the people by the corporate forces of imperial murder has not come suddenly. Oceans of innocent blood have drenched the world from our military violence since Quincy Adams said of America that “she goes not abroad in search of monsters to destroy”. World War II proved to Eisenhower’s Military/Industrial/Congressional Complex the obscene profit to be had from annihilating people, cities, and countries. Schumpeter defined the War Machine far better than Ike did: “Created by the wars that required it, it now creates the wars it requires.” Since 1945, America, by then firmly in its grasp, has relentlessly scoured the world behind the gross and cynical lie of defense of freedom, to foment, ignite, and expand the brutal, devastating, shock-and-awe gorefests the War Machine has to have. That Korea, Vietnam, and the catalog of Middle Eastern horrors the US perpetrated were failures on a cosmic scale except as cash cows for the War Machine has been of little concern to the most somnolent, propagandized, passive public since that of the Third Reich. These national mass murder atrocities were sold to Americans as defense of our indispensable “homeland” from barbarian, sub-human “others”. Some, such as Al Qaida were, absurdly, our Deep State’s own creations. It is commonly said and believed that the American public is not at fault for its profound, intractable moral cowardice since War Machine swag has kept them in a combination insane asylum, crack house, and human zoo. How else could they have lived with the intolerably bitter truth that their country is the serial violator and exterminator, the voracious destroyer, of so many millions of simple, guiltless, victim peoples? This is where John McCain and his ilk comes in. Exploiting his bogus and accidental credentials, he became a pitch man for the massive con of American purity and idealism as a front for imperialist greed, and made a career promoting and lionizing the War Machine as it raped the peoples of earth and robbed Americans blind in pursuit of its cancerous enrichment. Still, McCain was only a cracked and bent tool. He was always an effect, a symptom; never a cause. The real driver of the War Machine is heartless, soulless, predatory Capitalism. Its credo is exploitation of everything to maximize profit. In a closed system, competing capital conflicts, collides. Greed eclipses reason and war results. The greatest capital concentration requires the most terrible military, in which violence displaces conscience. There never has been, and never can be, Capitalism without war. Indoctrinated, baffled, saddled with a cesspool Congress and the deeply stupid, vulgarian Trump, centrist Americans desperate for refuge, rush mindlessly to the new War Party, Democrats eager to use McCain’s $700 billion dollar hogwallow “defense” bill, to insult and provoke China and Russia, and to attack Iran. Hubris, false bravado, and panic rule; nowhere is there self knowledge and with it, long overdue sorrow, regret, and shame. Karmic retribution–the pitiless hand of Nemesis–is all America deserves. |
