ROGER BOYD—Mark, like so many “alternative left” thinkers came from a background of culture and philosophy rather than political economy, having a BA in English & Philosophy and a PhD with the dissertation title of Flatline Constructs: Gothic Materialism and Cybernetic Theory-Fiction, and was also a founding member of the Cybernetic Cultural Research Unit.
