The junta’s detention and torture centers were assigned priests, whose job it was, not to minister to those suffering torture and death, but to help the torturers and killers overcome any pangs of conscience. [dropcap]F[/dropcap]or over a week, the media has subjected the public to a tidal wave of euphoric banality on the Roman Catholic Church’s selection of a new pope. This non-stop celebration of the dogma and ritual of an institution that for centuries has been identified with oppression and backwardness is stamped with a deeply undemocratic character. It is reflective of the rightward turn of the entire political establishment and its repudiation of the principles enshrined in the US Constitution, including the wall of separation between church and state. What a far cry from the political ideals that animated those who drafted that document. It was Thomas Jefferson’s well-founded opinion that “In every country and in every age, the priest has been hostile to liberty. He is always in alliance with the despot, abetting his abuses in return for protection to his own.” Jefferson’s view—and the reactionary character of the media’s sycophantic coverage—finds no more powerful confirmation than in the identity of the new pope, officially celebrated as a paragon of “humility” and “renewal.” Placed on the papal throne is not only another hard-line opponent of Marxism, the Enlightenment and all manner of human progress, but a man who is deeply and directly implicated in one of the greatest crimes of the post-World War II era—Argentina’s “Dirty War.” Amid the pomp and ceremony Friday, the Vatican spokesman was compelled to address the past of the new Pope Francis—the former Archbishop of Buenos Aires, Jorge Bergoglio. He dismissed the accusations against him as the work of “anti-clerical left-wing elements.” That “left-wing elements” would denounce the complicity of the Church’s leaders in the “Dirty War” waged by the military junta that ruled Argentina between 1976 and 1983 is scarcely surprising. They accounted for many of the estimated 30,000 workers, students, intellectuals and others who were “disappeared” and murdered, and the tens of thousands more who were imprisoned and tortured. But some of Bergoglio’s harshest critics come from within the Catholic Church itself, including priests and lay workers who say he handed them over to the torturers as part of a collaborative effort to “cleanse” the Church of “leftists.” One of them, a Jesuit priest, Orlando Yorio, was abducted along with another priest after ignoring a warning from Bergoglio, then head of the Jesuit order in Argentina, to stop their work in a Buenos Aires slum district. During the first trial of leaders of the military junta in 1985, Yorio declared, “I am sure that he himself gave over the list with our names to the Navy.” The two were taken to the notorious Navy School of Mechanics (ESMA) torture center and held for over five months before being drugged and dumped in a town outside the city. Bergoglio was ideologically predisposed to backing the mass political killings unleashed by the junta. In the early 1970s, he was associated with the right-wing Peronist Guardia de Hierro (Iron Guard), whose cadre—together with elements of the Peronist trade union bureaucracy—were employed in the death squads known as the Triple A (Argentine Anti-Communist Alliance), which carried out a campaign of extermination against left-wing opponents of the military before the junta even took power. Adm. Emilio Massera, the chief of the Navy and the leading ideologue of the junta, also employed these elements, particularly in the disposal of the personal property of the “disappeared.” Yorio, who died in 2000, charged that Bergoglio “had communications with Admiral Massera, and had informed him that I was the chief of the guerrillas.” The junta viewed the most minimal expression of opposition to the existing social order or sympathy for the oppressed as “terrorism.” The other priest who was abducted, Francisco Jalics, recounted in a book that Bergoglio had promised them he would tell the military that they were not terrorists. He wrote, “From subsequent statements by an official and 30 documents that I was able to access later, we were able to prove, without any room for doubt, that this man did not keep his promise, but that, on the contrary, he presented a false denunciation to the military.” Bergoglio declined to appear at the first trial of the junta as well as at subsequent proceedings to which he was summoned. In 2010, when he finally did submit to questioning, lawyers for the victims found him to be “evasive” and “lying.” Bergoglio claimed that he learned only after the end of the dictatorship of the junta’s practice of stealing the babies of disappeared mothers, who were abducted, held until giving birth and then executed, with their children given to military or police families. This lie was exposed by people who had gone to him for help in finding missing relatives. The collaboration with the junta was not a mere personal failing of Bergoglio, but rather the policy of the Church hierarchy, which backed the military’s aims and methods. The Argentine journalist Horacio Verbitsky exposed Bergoglio’s attempted cover-up for this systemic complicity in a book that Bergoglio authored, which edited out compromising sentences from a memorandum recording a meeting between the Church leadership and the junta in November 1976, eight months after the military coup. The excised statement included the pledge that the Church “in no way intends to take a critical position toward the action of the government,” as its “failure would lead, with great probability, to Marxism.” It declared the Catholic Church’s “understanding, adherence and acceptance” in relation to the so-called “Proceso” that unleashed a reign of terror against Argentine working people. This support was by no means platonic. The junta’s detention and torture centers were assigned priests, whose job it was, not to minister to those suffering torture and death, but to help the torturers and killers overcome any pangs of conscience. Using such biblical parables as “separating the wheat from the chafe,” they assured those operating the so-called “death flights,” in which political prisoners were drugged, stripped naked, bundled onto airplanes and thrown into the sea, that they were doing “God’s work.” Others participated in the torture sessions and tried to use the rite of confession to extract information of use to the torturers. This collaboration was supported from the Vatican on down. In 1981, on the eve of Argentina’s war with Britain over the Malvinas (Falkland) Islands, Pope John Paul II flew to Buenos Aires, appearing with the junta and kissing its then-chief, Gen. Leopoldo Galtieri, while saying not a word about the tens of thousands who had been kidnapped, tortured and murdered. As Jefferson noted, the Church is “always in alliance with the despot,” as it was in backing Franco’s fascists in Spain, its collaboration with the Nazis as they carried out the Holocaust in Europe, and its support of the US war in Vietnam. Nonetheless, the naming of a figure like Bergoglio as Pope—and its celebration within the media and ruling circles—must serve as a stark warning. Not only are the horrific crimes carried out in Argentina 30 years ago embraced, those in power are contemplating the use of similar methods once again to defend capitalism from intensifying class struggle and the threat of social revolution.ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Assange Defamation Effort is Old: CNN Had to Retract Pedophile Claim Against Assange After Wikileaks Threatened Lawsuit in 2017

Actually there is no need to imagine. It's happening already.
The usual media scumbags—channeling CIA talking points— have been busy besmirching Assange's image for a long time. Now, more accusations are being bandied about. CNN, Fox, and MSNBC, as usual, lead the parade.
CNN Retracts Pedophile Claim Against Assange After Wikileaks Threatens Lawsuit
“An analyst on our air earlier today asserted that Julian Assange was a pedophile, and regrets saying it. In fact, CNN has no evidence to support that assertion.”
MINNEAPOLIS — CNN apologized to Julian Assange on Wednesday after an on-air pundit accused the WikiLeaks founder of being a pedophile in the morning, but the network has so far failed to address a similar accusation made by another talking head later in the day.

The CIA does not only infiltrate the media, it is often the media: Meet Phil Mudd, former CIA, now on CNN's payroll.
Philip Mudd, a former CIA agent and counterterrorism analyst on the network’s payroll, made the first false accusation during a Wednesday morning appearance on “New Day.” (The abject and sleazy cowards quickly withdrew the video, no longer available on YouTube.)
“I think there’s an effort to protect WikiLeaks from a pedophile who lives in the Ecuadorean Embassy in London,” Mudd said, referring to the WikiLeaks founder. WikiLeaks quickly fired back via social media, threatening a lawsuit against CNN.
Later in the day, Mike Rogers, a CNN national security commentator with a background in Congress, the Army, and the FBI, appeared on “The Lead with Jake Tapper,” where he leveled allegations similar to Mudd’s.
In a discussion of President-elect Donald Trump’s recent embrace of Assange, Rogers argued that Trump needs “someone to explain to him who Julian Assange is.”
https://youtu.be/eVHYGW-OW04?t=45s (This video is also not available, "account terminated", says YouTube, but we don't know who "terminated" the video, which naturally embarrasses the original posters.)
He continued:
“I think if he knew all of the details — this person is wanted for rape of a minor. He is hiding in the basement of an embassy because he is a fugitive from justice, number one. Number two, he has released information harmful to the United States that I do believe jeopardize soldiers in the field.”
Assange entered the Embassy of Ecuador in London on asylum in June of 2012, and he’s remained there ever since. Although never formally charged, he was wanted for questioning in Sweden on charges of sexual assault after he allegedly refused to wear a condom during sex with two adult women in 2010. Swedish officials had refused to question Assange at the embassy until November of 2016, and Assange feared that if he traveled to Sweden for questioning he would be subsequently extradited to the United States to face serious charges under a secret, ongoing grand jury.
A United Nations panel ruled in February of 2016 that Assange’s confinement is considered “arbitrary detention” and ordered his immediate release. Despite the ruling and three days of questioning by Ingrid Isgren, Sweden’s deputy chief prosecutor, Assange remains in the embassy on threat of arrest should he ever set foot outside.
No credible evidence has ever linked Assange to improper behavior against minors, but WikiLeaks’ tweets linked to a series of allegations made against him during the election by Todd & Clare, a Houston-based dating site, which accused Assange of attempting to contact an underage girl in the Bahamas for the purposes of sexual assault.
Writing in October for McClatchy DC, Tim Johnson pointed out many inconsistencies in the story provided by Todd & Clare representatives and noted that the company had been granted unusual access to the United Nations. Johnson reported:
“The company’s operating address is a warehouse loading dock in Houston. Its mail goes to a Houston drop box. Its phone numbers no longer work. WikiLeaks says Texas officials tell it the entity is not registered there either under toddandclare.com or a parent company, T&C Network Solutions.”
Further, there was little or no evidence to support the allegations against Assange.
In addition to deleting a tweet which contained a link to video of Mudd calling Assange a pedophile, “New Day” issued a retraction via Twitter on Wednesday afternoon.
The statement read:
“An analyst on our air earlier today asserted that Julian Assange was a pedophile, and regrets saying it. In fact, CNN has no evidence to support that assertion.”
As of Thursday afternoon, however, no similar retraction had been made regarding Rogers’ comments.
Assange and WikiLeaks have been targeted by a swell of attacks in the mainstream media since the site published extensive archives of emails taken from Hillary Clinton’s private email server and the private email account of Clinton’s campaign manager, John Podesta, during the election. Assange has repeatedly denied accusations that he is a Russian agent, and suggested Podesta’s email hacking should be attributed to poor security, not a government plot.
(Note, for the Nth time: It's been established that there was no "hacking" at the DNC, by Russians or any other supposedly "sinister" party. The data became available as a result of an internal leak. A leak. Someone in their office simply downloaded the data to a flash drive and scampered away. Period.)

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]his essay was in part, inspired by — and written in memory of — William Blum (1932-2018). Blum was a comrade-in-arms, and himself one of the great keyboard warriors of his time. We all had much to learn from this man about courage, integrity, tenacity, and resilience in the service of truth. His trenchant opposition to the ruthless and relentless exploitation of other countries and their people by his own country the United States of America is possibly best exemplified by his book America’s Deadliest Export: Democracy, the Truth About US Foreign Policy, and Everything Else. This is also dedicated to the good people of Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Venezuela, Iran, Burundi, Rwanda, (the Republic of) Zaire, and all other countries who’ve been the ‘beneficiaries’ of America’s noble ‘n global experiment in the export of democracy. The world would not be the place it is today without it, for which, we are told, we must remain forever thankful.

Brief: With everything that is presently transpiring in the U.S., it’s clear America’s foreign policy agents provocateurs du jour are seeking their next big fix, a reality underscored by the fact they also have Iran in their sights, with the blowback in Ukraine and Syria still a work in progress. Regime change — the wrecking ball in the foreign policy toolbox — continues to permeate the rarefied atmosphere of the Imperial Capitol, with Venezuela holding pole position on the D.C.-based Democracy Busters dance-card. It seems though that with every successive effort by the U.S. and its proxies to destabilize countries and dethrone their elected leaders, they pay less attention to disguising their real motives and covering their tracks, and more attention to ignoring their failures and downplaying their disasters. That this reality should awaken more folks to the hollowness and hubris of America’s much-touted rep as a “force for good in the world” or a “beacon of freedom” is a given for those of us with a more clear-eyed view of how much chaos, destruction, and geopolitical instability this default policy prescription engenders. Greg Maybury invites one and all to re-arrange the furniture in their geopolitical living room, and consider the following: nothing is going to change in the execution of U.S foreign policy, until pretty much everything else does.

— The Low-life Lion King of the Congo —
What with the events taking place in Venezuela*, along with plans afoot by the Regime Renovators du jour Elliot Abrams, Mike Pompeo, and John Bolton and their ilk to wipe Iran off the map, it seemed an opportune time to strap on the parachute and jump down the memory hole of history in order to get a handle on what all the fuss is about. (*See the blog Washington Babylon for Ken Silverstein’s current reportage on Venezuela. From what I can deduce, it’s hard to beat.)
I should note that the core of this narrative was penned back around 2014, now with some updates and editorial revisions. It was intended then — as it is now — to provide another perspective on Uncle Sam’s incurable addiction to meddling in the affairs of other nations, and the blowback from doing so. I should also add the following: One of the factors prompting this post was my recent discovery of a powerful (limited season, highly recommended) Netflix drama series called Black Earth Rising. And as noted, another is the shadow and portent of “regime change”, rarely far removed from the foreign policy public discourse in Washington at least for those with an ear for these things, this time around it seems especially so. (One feels that the younger generation is really beginning to wise up to this reality, and though such reflections are important, space precludes a deeper discussion herein. Backatcha on this.)
The backdrop to this narrative are the events which took place in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (aka Zaire), a modern-day catastrophe which had its genesis back as far as the early fifties, but whose dark history of colonial and imperial exploitation goes back several centuries. Without further ado, the following is my bespoke take on the DRC/Zaire, whilst keeping at the forefront of our minds in the process, America’s more recent role in keeping the home fires burning in same, wherever the “home fires” require ‘lighting’ and ‘fuelling’. Such as in Venezuela now, Libya in 2011, Syria in 2012, and in 2014 in Ukraine, to name just a few infamous, more contemporary examples.
The stories of US involvement in the political affairs of foreign countries are as legion as they are of course familiar. At least they are for those of us with few illusions about America’s status as “a force for good in the world”, and places such as Cuba, Guatemala, and Iran are prime examples. Yet throughout the years the Cuban revolution was taking place on America’s doorstep, there were plenty of others brewing on every continent on the Big Blue/Green Ball. One of the most significant of these was in Joseph Conrad territory — the geographical heart of deepest, darkest Africa, specifically the Belgian Congo (later DRC/Zaire).
In 1960 a BC independence movement started gaining momentum, and between then and 1965 the CIA was intimately involved in an ongoing effort to influence the outcome of events in order to advance freedom, democracy, and self-determination in this ‘tin-pot, piss-ant, third-world backwater’, regardless of whether they wanted it or not. As we will see said “outcome” was very ugly indeed. Like Guatemala, Cuba and Iran et al. to name just an unfortunate few, the blowback had a very long shelf-life and a very deep impact.
The BC was a colonial outpost of Belgium from the latter part of the 19th century, initially under the barbarous, infamously despotic, truly genocidal King Leopold II, who pillaged, raped, purged, looted, pilfered, rampaged, plundered and burned his way through the African country throughout his reign until 1908. A particularly despicable, nasty, vile piece of work was His Royal Highness, ‘ Low-life’ Leo’. If Belgium dragged the chain in succumbing to its own imperial and colonialist ambitions, like so many of its European cohort had already don, it is in the Congo where it tried to make up the ground. That’s putting it mildly. For Leopold’s part, it is generally accepted he presided over the deaths of upwards of 10 million Congolese people (‘give’ rather than ‘take’ a ‘mill’ by most accounts).
Arguably he was one of the worst advertisements for colonialism, imperialism, monarchism, exploitation, and despotism (by any measure a big call). If ever there was a more villainous manifestation of a monarch exercising the divine right of kings in the last one hundred and fifty years, I cannot think of one off hand. For that matter, whilst the historical concept of the DRK itself might have been considered passe by Leopold’s time, no-one told him. More likely he simply ignored it, or didn’t get the memo. In the mass murder ‘popularity stakes’, this dude was up there with the aspiring, tragically unrequited Viennese artist Adolph Hitler, snapping at The Man of Steel’s heels, and in retrospect giving The Great Helmsman Mao a run for his yuan. He makes the more recent genocidal maniac Cambodia’s Pol Pot look like an underachiever by way of comparison. But unlike the aforementioned, he does not enjoy household name status in the history books, or in popular culture.
Interestingly, the BC, a major exporter of uranium during the Second World War, supplied the ‘juice’ to the Americans used in the A-bombs dropped in Japan. This was not of course, the last time a uranium-producing African nation would figure large in a world-changing foreign policy decision taken by the Americans. It also held vast amounts of still relatively untapped high-value mineral and resource wealth (e.g. gold, copper, cobalt). This attracted the attention of the US (natch!), especially at the height of the Cold War, when said war was possibly much more about laissez-faire economics, energy, and other high value and/or strategic resources than it was about political ideology.
During the 1950s, as there was in the post-World War Two, post-colonial period, there was widespread nationalist fervour fomenting in the country. There were years of unrest, political bickering, and nit-picking between ethnic and tribal groups and other political forces, over who the main muchachos would be in any new independent government. Most importantly though it was over who would get the main spoils, and/or of course who would get to keep them and profit from them. As it came to be, this scenario is a familiar one and one that would be repeated monotonously with varying degrees of tragedy in most emerging, independent African nations throughout subsequent years. To say little of other places on the imperial itinerary.
Patrice Lumumba — His Assassination has been described by the Guardian as ‘the most important’ of the 20th century. In 1960 the country eventually achieved its full independence from Belgium, and Patrice Lumumba became the popularly elected Prime Minister. For his part Lumumba let it be known that he was not a very happy camper at the way his people had been treated over the years and how his country had been ruthlessly exploited. Nothing new here in this sentiment: It was a constant refrain from most countries in the post-colonialist, nationalist era.
Lumumba appeared to be leaning towards Moscow with the possibility that the country could be taken over by godless, liberty challenged communists, or fall into their Geopolitical Orbit. “Appeared” is the operative word here, as like it so often is; such fear mongering was an expedient gambit with ulterior motives, much like terrorism has been more recently. History now tells us that with many former colonies, it was not so much ideology that drove the nationalist ambitions of the former colonies of empire; it was attaining true political independence, sovereignty, and authentic control over their internal affairs. In almost all cases their former colonial masters and their new ‘besties’ the Americans had decidedly different ideas. This was especially the case with countries like the DRC, which was sitting on mountains of much sought after resources and minerals.
Now either way, any leaning towards Moscow would just not do, and this information understandably set a cat amongst the hawks in Langley and Washington. Perhaps not surprisingly, it was revealed later on some members of the then Eisenhower administration had ‘interests’ in the mineral and resource wealth of the country, a frequently recurring motif underpinning America’s unrelenting efforts to assert that “right to protect” and from there export that aforementioned “democracy” etc. so they could eventually import these resources to America at bargain basement prices. It also scared the local anti-communist, right-wing elements in the country including in the Army, especially the top brass who wore asbestos ‘Grundies’ under their MilFats (military fatigues), were highly tuned to the geopolitical and economic imperatives in relation to guaranteeing their future, and who would clearly benefit from a takeover of government. Oh, and did I say they were pro-American?
This was of course music to the CIA’s ears. PLU’s – not Peace, Love and Understanding here mind you – they doubtless were thinking “People Like Us!” And the CIA was only too eager to assist. If the purportedly communist elements took over, there was no doubt this would threaten the political fortunes and personal and financial interests of those making foreign policy in the US (shades of things to come) and presumably their fellow travelers in US and Congolese mining and resource sectors and other vested local and international interests. The go-to guys at the CIA got to work…as they invariably do. Lumumba was eventually ousted and later offed (i.e. assassinated). And a former Army chieftain Mobutu Sese Soko assumed control.
And speaking of being “offed” and “ousted” — albeit in his case, in one fell swoop — it is important to note here that the president at the time of Lumumba’s assassination was none other than John Fitzgerald Kennedy (aka JFK), who’d only just begun to get comfortable in his new digs on Pennsylvania Ave. As noted earlier, by most accounts the assassination of Lumumba was a train already in motion when Kennedy arrived at the White House. For his part, JFK was famously anti-colonialist, anti-imperialist to his boot-straps, and ostensibly supported the DRC’s independence. We’ll explore his role later on.
–— Dark Days in the Dark Continent (Regime Renovators Redux) —
[dropcap]N[/dropcap]ot unlike his former colonial masters in their own colonialist ambitions, Mobutu initially dragged the chain on demonstrating his despotic disposition. But when he did get going he was unstoppable and quickly made up for any lost ground. To grease the wheels of power and keep them spinning in his favor, he bribed many of his potential challengers and rivals thereby giving new meaning to the old adage of ‘keep(ing) [your] friends close, and [your] enemies closer’. Although not a new concept in history, this was a dictum apparently finding favor with many other dictators of the time. Probably still does. It’s in the job description. Especially if one seeks security of tenure. And who better to provide that security than old Uncle Sam.
For those political opponents who were less compliant or corruptible, Mobutu reportedly presided over their public executions in front of Coliseum-sized crowds, or in simple, crude, tried and true tyrant style had them and their families tortured and/or murdered then disposed of on the QT. And then he really dug in his heels. By the end of the decade, he was unchallenged master of the Congo universe, and yet slowly but surely turned his country into an economic, social, environmental, political, and human rights basket case, another black hole in the post-imperial African continental universe! This was a man who successive US presidents called “America’s beacon of hope” in the region or similar sentiments. Go figure!
Over time Mobutu’s regime morphed into a ‘klepto-bruto-kakocracy’ of the first order. He maintained a personal fleet of Mercedes limos, and went on frequent shopping trips to Paris, London and Milan on the Concorde (he even had a special airfield built for the plane) with his large entourage of wives/concubines and scores of cloying hacks, flacks, lackeys and subservient minions sticking to his belligerent black-ass like baby-shit to a blanket. He had dozens of mansions and palaces, and amassed an estimated $5bn dollars stashed in his own personal Swiss bank accounts all of which one can only presume he was keeping for a rainy day in case the road ahead got a little too bumpy. That he went on to become one of Africa’s most enduring if not endearing despots, is a matter of public record, even if said “public” is largely oblivious to this grossly tragic and criminal exercise in regime redemption and how it all played out over three decades and three countries. And it was all achieved with the blessing of the consecutive powers that be in Washington, regardless of whether they were Democratic or Republican. Deja vu, all over again!
Although the ride did eventually get quite bumpy for Mobutu, any karma due him took its time in arriving. In the interim, he caused a lot of people a lot of grief over a very long period of time and an equally broad expanse of geography. The post-colonial world was never going to be a pretty sight anywhere it could be found on the planet (even without ts he meddling of the major powers), and this is one country where that observation really hits home, in a continent full of similar basket cases and less than pretty sights. For over the three decades whilst Mobutu ruled the country (renamed Zaire in the meantime), the living conditions of most of his people deteriorated rapidly and dramatically, and they were the lucky ones that survived the seemingly eternal, existential, deathly inferno he brought to life with merciless gusto. Though he never came close, Mobutu was prepped to show Low-life Leo a clean pair of heels in the mass murder and brutality stakes. Now no-one really knows how many of his countrymen he butchered himself. If one is wondering where Robert Mugabe (Zimbabwe) and Idi Amin (Uganda) and their despotic ilk got their delusions of bloody grandeur from back in their heyday, then Mobutu is your go-to man!
In the early 1990s though, it all started to go pear-shaped for the by now similarly pear-shaped despot, with even the Americans turning against him. It all began to go decidedly the same way for a lot of other people as well. Tribal connections in Africa are deep and very complex and are rarely respective of national borders or sovereign boundaries, most of which have been redrawn dramatically, arbitrarily, and frequently in the past 100-150 odd years. This has mainly been since the rent-seeking white man showed up to collect said rent. Since the 1972 genocides and even further back than that, there have always been ethnic tensions — ‘diplo-speak’ for different tribes slaughtering each other en masse — within and without the three countries. That these were either exploited deliberately or incidentally fuelled by the interference of major western powers is a given, especially the U.S.
(A full account of the events that took place in this region around this time is beyond the scope of this essay. For a deeper elucidation, and one which is almost at complete odds with the current official “genocide” narrative, go here and here. Christopher C Black, a Toronto based international criminal lawyer, is one of the go-to sources herein, with the scars to prove it by his own account. The James Corbett interview below is a must-listen in this respect. Black spent 14 years successfully defending former Rwandan Gendarmerie General Augustin Ndindiliyimana at the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR). In that time, Black uncovered copious evidence about what really happened in the so-called “100 Days” of 1994 and the four-year civil war that led up to it. Black shares that information in this podcast and deconstructs the lies that continue to be propagated about the Rwandan genocide.)
That the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) originally chalked up the coup in Zaire (nee the DRC) as a victory then, and saw the rise of Mobutu as beneficial to the region was clear. A “victory” for what and “beneficial” to whom though are questions that many are still asking even to this day. It is uncertain though whether the current Langley Gang is asking the same questions after all these years. Chances are that today’s CIA spooks would not be even able to pinpoint Zaire/DRC on a map, let alone have any collective recollection of the role their predecessors had in the recent history of the ravaged, impoverished, at once bled dry and blood-soaked country. Or in the region. Or on the whole continent. Or of any of the others mentioned in the The Great American Regime Redemption narrative. That’s why we’re here down in the memory hole!
–— Our Son of a Bitch (Not Theirs) —
[dropcap]T[/dropcap]o underscore just how much the US courts and panders to their roster of client dictators past and present, it is perhaps at Ronald (The Gipper) Reagan‘s tenure we might ‘have a gander’. Like most US presidents, Reagan turned a blind eye to the shenanigans of the despots on their diplomatic dance-card. One of the most infamous of these folks was to be sure the aforementioned Mobutu.
Mobutu was the man that The Gipper – who three times hosted him at official White House gatherings, and ignored repeated criticisms of his human rights record – called a “voice of good sense and goodwill”. Small wonder they called him – i.e. Reagan – the Great Communicator. If people believed this shit (and it seemed most did at the time), they’d believe anything. Either that or Ronnie had once again begun to show the effects of Alzheimer’s, and he really had swallowed the whole jar of jelly beans as it were in one fell swoop.
Now some less than kind souls have even suggested the Gipper rode into the White House with at least Alzheimer’s early onset. Or he’d simply forgotten the details of the briefing he received from the good folks on the Zaire/DRC desk down at Foggy Bottom. Or maybe Reagan actually was engaging in some FDR-type realpolitik, that being: ‘he may be a son of a bitch, but he’s our son of a bitch’. Hard to know for sure! More likely though in true neo-con tradition, he chose to ignore it, or didn’t consider the deprivation of human rights on a national scale or persecution, denial of human rights, exploitation, mass incarceration, and murder of its citizens all that much of a big deal. In fact, The Gipper’s Ambassador to the UN, Jeanne Kirkpatrick (aka the Fairy Godmother of Neo-cons and an Amazonian Cold Warrior of the first order), was once quoted as saying that ‘America could be justified in its defense of totalitarian regimes if it served the defense of liberty and the national interest’. This was a refrain we have come to hear many times since.
Now the concept of the “national interest” for the US has always been one that’s a moving feast at the best and worst of times, and the above statement would have had the Grandmaster Minter of political double-speak George Orwell spinning in his eternally designated bolthole. We don’t know if Kirkpatrick was referring to people like Mobutu and his ilk in particular when she framed this pearl of foreign policy wisdom or had people like him in mind, but he clearly would not have been completely out of the frame. It’s also just as uncertain how Mobutu might have served the “liberty” and/or the “national interest” of either the US or Zaire however it might have been defined, or for that matter the other countries in Africa that suffered blowback from his poisonous, sclerotic, genocidal and cataclysmic reign, most notably Rwanda and Burundi.
It’s also not known if Mobutu had the same understanding of “liberty” and “national interest” as those that he detained, assassinated, murdered, terrorized, raped, tortured, mutilated, plundered, imprisoned, pillaged and just plain neglected throughout his time in office. The lucky ones – if they can in any logically considered sense be defined as such – are presumably the ones he did neglect. He might not have destroyed as many lives as King Leo, but he gave it his best shot. With his death in disgraced exile in Morocco of prostate cancer in 1997, Mobutu’s belligerent, brutal ‘blackass’ was no more, and the moment of his passing presumably came not a nanosecond too soon for those who did survive him, with what remained of their lives and their families and tribes and their communities. It’s still further unknown what these folk and their descendants think now about the leaders, institutions, and nations without whose support the long-since deceased, yet still reviled Mobutu relied upon to keep him in power would have had a considerably shorter shelf-life than he did if not for them interfering in their affairs. America, this is your foreign policy dollar working for you, now and then.
Now if King Leopold in the Belgian Congo was the poster boy/template for the ugly, vicious, ruthless, colonialist/imperialist period of centuries-old European empire, then Mobutu in Zaire went on to assume the role of his future political doppelganger in the equally ugly, vicious, ruthless, post-colonial, post-imperial, nationalist, and independence periods, a period that the U.S. (you know, the world’s greatest democracy and “beacon of freedom”?) called the shots on. The CIA adopted him, nurtured him, and egged him on all the way. After all, he believed in Freedom™ and Democracy™ and Liberty™ and all that other All-American (Bull)Shit™ too didn’t he? What’s not to like?
For his part — and we might say, his final part — The Gipper played the role of an Alzheimer’s victim who eventually ‘buys the ranch’ for real in 2004, riding off into the sunset for the very last time. No doubt like most presidents before and after him, he did so oblivious to, or unconcerned about, the blowback that unfolded as a result of his country’s policies under his ‘regime’. Mobutu was of course only one in a veritable conga-line of client dictatorships whose unerring, unquestioning support by America of them and the respective ruling elites and their cadres of the many and various regimes helped unleash mayhem, destruction, exploitation, torture, murder, misery, deep-seated ethnic, religious and racial division, and genocide upon their people and societal disorder, political dysfunction and economic catastrophe upon their nations.
As for Reagan, true to form the Old Ham just wouldn’t get off the stage, being of the ripe old age of 93 when they eventually carted him off to Boot Hill. Still a bit of a ‘B’ movie exit by many measures, certainly for many who might consider his presidency a bit, well, ‘B’ movie. Not all it’s cracked up to be then? But try telling that to the Raging, Rabid, Raving, Righteous ideologues of Neo Americon (sic) Century, and you will get ‘short-shrifted’ PDQ. You know who I’m talking about here cupcakes: the aforementioned Pompeos, the Boltons, the Abrams, and all the rest of their hacks, flacks, and lackeys on either side of the Potomac and beyond. He was their savior back in the day….for which we should all be forever grateful (not). The most depressing thing though is that the current cabal almost makes The Gipper look and sound like a bleeding heart liberal democrat and anti-imperialist...I did say “almost” didn’t I?….
To bring our narrative up to speed with current events and take it full circle — especially those that have to do with regime change and America’s interferences in the affairs of other countries for reasons generally unrelated to concerns on the part of the U.S. about freedom, democracy, liberty, and the much ballyhooed rule of law — we have to once again parachute back down the memory hole. This time though we look at JFK and his connection to the Lumumba story. The whole mess in the DRC was as earlier indicated all about the filthy lucre (or in au courant parlance, “it’s all about the ‘Benjamins'”).
The DRC was/is one of the most resource-rich nations certainly on the Dark Continent if not in the world. Few national entities can hold their own against the combined powers of the large multi-national corporations and the governments of countries like Britain, France, and America, when you have something they want. As Nicolás Maduro of Venezuela is currently finding out. All things considered, Lumumba never stood a chance of surviving as PM of the newly independent nation. The former had a very different definition of what it meant to be independent than the latter and his supporters. His assassination was preordained by the Eisenhower administration, and by most accounts, Kennedy was totally unaware of this.
It is also notable that JFK himself was infamously offed by the regime changers of his own era, those who felt threatened by his stance on any number of issues. One of the motives for his dispatch could well have been the president’s supportive position on post-colonial nationalism and the increasing — and to their former imperial overlords, annoying — assertiveness of their former colonies, along with their desire for independence with all the fruit that came with it. By supporting these stances, this by definition meant that Kennedy was perceived to be no friend of empire.
But notwithstanding his campaign rhetoric, it’s no surprise that current POTUS Donald Trump has fully embraced the regime changers agenda. As I have observed elsewhere on occasion, Trump is after all the consummate ‘chancer’. He knows which side on which to butter his bagel. Which brings to mind the late, great comedian Bill Hicks‘ pitch-black routine about a hypothetical induction session given by the powers that be behind the throne to all new occupants of the White House. In Hicks’ fanciful — yet at the same time still frighteningly plausible — scenario, the new POTUS (let’s imagine it’s The Donald) is ushered into the Situation Room to watch a video. As the first few frames come up, it becomes immediately obvious even to Trump this is a cinematic rendition of the events in Dallas on November 22, 1963, circa lunchtime.
Unlike previous footage of this memorable event, this ‘version’ has never been made public, and presents a scenario that is completely at odds with the official narrative. The new president slowly but surely braces himself, fuelled by ever increasing shock and unease as he watches the unfolding moving images reveal a mise-en-scène very different to the more familiar Zapruder footage. In this version he witnesses several shooters perpetrating a deadly crossfire — none of whom are located anywhere near the Texas School Book Depository Building, and one of whom mos def is situated behind the white picket fence at the top of the grassy knoll and looks nothing like Lee Harvey Oswald — all of which confirms for him unequivocally that every conspiracy theorist who’s ever attached their name to the JFK assassination after rejecting the Warren Commission report was indeed right after all. As the presentation comes to the end, there is silence in the room; after he’s recovered a measure of composure, one of the presenters asks the freshly minted POTUS if he has any questions. He dutifully replies: “Nah I’m good; let’s go bomb Damascus!” We get the picture, even if my retelling loses something in the translation.

[dropcap]I[/dropcap]nsofar as the situation in Venezuela goes, placing to one side the reality that hell has no fury like an empire scorned, it is perhaps instructive to consider other reasons as to why Uncle Sam has such a ‘hard on’ for the country and its current, ‘recalcitrant’ leader Nicholas Maduro. Firstly, a little backstory. As most folks know, every regime change cum military operation comes with its own unique identifier, a brand if one likes, to use marketing terminology. It’s uncertain if the U.S. Military-Industrial Complex™ — which knows a thing or three about marketing to be sure, possibly much more than they do about actually winning wars — has contrived a specific nomenclature for any possible offensive operation in Venezuela.
But it’s unlikely to compete with the one some bright spark in the George Bush administration conjured up—in what can only be described as an inspired flash of lateral thinking—when they decided to invade Iraq in 2003 and ‘renovate’ Saddam Hussein’s regime from the inside out. In its hegemonic zeal, Bush and Co. neglected (amongst many other things it should be noted), to pay close attention to the optics of its brand, and the message said brand might unintentionally convey to the public if one does not get one’s ducks flying in the same direction and at the same speed on such important details. This is especially important if one is looking to disguise the real objectives underpinning one’s not so benevolent intentions. As anyone who works in marketing or public relations will tell you, it’s all about the “optics”: Perception is nine-tenths of reality! Or put it another way: perception is to a marketer what location is to a realtor….
…..
All of which is to say, the planned, ultimately disastrous, monumentally expensive invasion and occupation of Iraq was originally designated—wait for it—as Operation Iraqi Liberation, or “OIL” for short. (No folks I am not making this shit up…As the inimitable and irrepressible Walter Brennan might have opined back in the day, “that’s no brag, that’s fact!”) It was apparently some time before the penny dropped and it was hastily rebranded Operation Iraqi Freedom (or “OIF”), lest folks get the wrong idea. I don’t know about you dear readers but when to comes to acronyms, I much prefer “OIL” to “OIF”; it rolls off the tongue a lot easier for one thing.
In any event, this linguistic ‘wardrobe malfunction’ went on to a achieve the distinction of becoming one of the great exemplars of the Freudian slip to be found anywhere in anyone’s political history, recent or not so. And in Venezuela, like in Iraq, make no mistake: It’s also all about the OIL. The lucky (or depending on your POV, unlucky) Venezuelans have more of the ‘Texas Tea’ than Saudi Arabia!…
That they also have much more “democracy” and “freedom” too than the Saudis is a given, with even the occasional fair and free election, (and insofar as one can gather, fewer public beheadings). Though admittedly none of this might be considered a huge achievement by some folks for any country regardless of the measure of their authoritarian persuasion to which they might or might not be inclined. Not that that reality has ever really counted for much in Washington, now or then.
…..Like Superman does with his underpants then, these days the regime renovators wear their ‘Freudian slips‘ on the outside; indeed, they all but seem to ‘wear’ them with pride, like a wannabe Hollywood starlet sashaying down the red carpet on Oscar night in some famous couturier’s new frock. When it comes to understanding the mindset of these folks, it appears they have resurrected then contrived their own bespoke version of the aforementioned Divine Right of Kings. Either that or like Superman, they really believe they are fighting for Truth™, Justice™, and the American Way™, all three of which are literally by definition a moving feast at the best of times in U.S. political discourse. And they see it is their God-given right—nay responsibility—to protect and save the rest of the planet’s denizens from themselves.
Such then is how they view their exceptional, indispensable place within the geopolitical firmament. The French in their imperial heyday called it their “mission civilisatrice”. The scribe cum poet laureate of imperial excess Rudyard Kipling referred to it as the “White Man’s Burden”, one which he suggested none too subtly America would have to pick up after the British Empire ran out of puff. Which would suggest the Americans mos def did get the memo this time. More accurately, we might simply describe it as pillaging, raping, plundering, rampaging, burning, looting, exploitation, and rampant desecration, and wholesale destruction of communities, regions, and nations and their natural and human resources in order to enrich themselves and their fellow elites in their own countries simply because they can. Sounds like a pretty good day’s work if/when you can both get it, and get away with it eh? As Desmond Tutu of South Africa once put it:
‘When the missionaries came to Africa they had the Bible and we had the land. They said: “Let us pray”. We closed our eyes…When we opened them we had the Bible and they had the land.’ Sounds about right to me.
We should round out this diatribe with an admonishment from the late, great Chalmers Johnson, a man who like William Blum, was no fan of his country’s relentless, ruthless empire building, and one who knew a thing or three about “blowback”. ‘Although most Americans may be largely ignorant of what was, and still is, being done in their names, all are likely to pay a steep price — individually and collectively — for their nation’s continued efforts to dominate the global scene.’ One only needs to be able to read, have some basic research skills, and a willingness to have the scales pulled from their eyes, to understand where Johnson was coming from.
Yet the last word must go to Blum (to whom said diatribe is dedicated), though it does echo similar sentiments to Johnson’s: ‘No matter how paranoid or conspiracy-minded you are, what your government is doing is actually worse than you can imagine’.

Sociopathic behaviour and appalling hypocrisy permeate all organs of the American empire, from its media to its politicians, and obviously its hidden plutocratic handlers.
[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he US Senate has voted 56 to 41 to sorta-kinda eventually end America’s part in the Saudi-led war in Yemen, one step out of a great many that will need to happen in order to end the worst humanitarian crisis on the face of the earth.
The joint resolution still allows US drones to patrol Yemeni airspace and rain death from above in its “war on terror” against Al Qaeda, and it is unable to pass in the House this year due to an unbelievably sleazy rider that House Republicans attached to the unrelated Farm Bill. The resolution isn’t expected to change much in terms of actual US participation in the war besides some intelligence and reconnaissance assistance to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates against the Houthi rebels, since the US has already ended its assistance in refueling Saudi jets on their bombing campaigns as of last month. Trump is expected to veto any Yemen resolutions, and the Senate resolution was not passed with a veto-proof supermajority.
Still, it’s a step. A step in the right direction, both toward congress imposing some checks and balances on the Executive Branch’s heretofore obscenely unchallenged war powers, and toward the US government moving into opposition to the brazen war crimes being inflicted upon the Yemeni people by America’s close ally Saudi Arabia. And I think that last bit is worth taking a moment to think about.
The Senate vote to end U.S. involvement in the #Saudi #Yemen War is a big step forward, and the House should do the same in early 2019. But to actually force an end the Saudi war, Congress must cut off the Saudi Air Force's spare parts, without which it can't fly..
— Gareth Porter (@GarethPorter) December 14, 2018
Research from the Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project indicates that up to 80,000 people have been killed in this war, which would be eight times more than the 10,000 figure we’ve been hearing from the mainstream media for years on those rare occasions they’ve felt like mentioning Yemen. And it is important to note that this number applies to deaths by military violence only, not to the other untold tens of thousands who have died of starvation and cholera as a result of Saudi Arabia’s inhuman blockades on imports and its deliberate targeting of farms, fishing boats, marketplaces, food storage sites and cholera treatment centers with airstrikes. Just for children under the age of five, the death toll due to starvation alone is believed to be around 85,000.
So that’s what’s going on while the bureaucrats on Capitol Hill are slowly pushing their pencils and the diplomats are making nicey nicey with theocratic Gulf state tyrants. If Saudi Arabia were not an ally of the United States, this matter would be treated very, very differently.
[dropcap]I[/dropcap]n May of last year, then-Secretary of State Rex Tillerson was given a memo by his assistant, virulent Iran hawk Brian Hook. The memo, intended to educate the struggling political neophyte Tillerson on the finer points of State Department manipulation, laid out the beltway’s standard protocol for dealing with Washington’s allies and its enemies. Hook said human rights issues are something the US government presses its enemies on but not its allies, naming China, Russia, North Korea, and Iran as examples of US enemies who violate human rights, and naming Egypt, the Philippines, and Saudi Arabia as examples of US allies who violate human rights.
“In the case of US allies such as Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the Philippines, the Administration is fully justified in emphasizing good relations for a variety of important reasons, including counter-terrorism, and in honestly facing up to the difficult tradeoffs with regard to human rights,” Hook wrote. “One useful guideline for a realistic and successful foreign policy is that allies should be treated differently — and better — than adversaries. Otherwise, we end up with more adversaries, and fewer allies. The classic dilemma of balancing ideals and interests is with regard to America’s allies. In relation to our competitors, there is far less of a dilemma. We do not look to bolster America’s adversaries overseas; we look to pressure, compete with, and outmaneuver them. For this reason, we should consider human rights as an important issue in regard to US relations with China, Russia, North Korea, and Iran. And this is not only because of moral concern for practices inside those countries. It is also because pressing those regimes on human rights is one way to impose costs, apply counter-pressure, and regain the initiative from them strategically.”
Leaked memo schooled Tillerson on human rights, i.e. How to use democracy promotion against US enemies where regime-change is desired outcome and not against your allies, such as KSA, Egypt, Jordan etc. Democracy too good for US allies. https://t.co/BCai6pntct via @politico

And indeed this is exactly the sort of behavior we see from the US government, not just from its official branches like the State Department but from its unofficial ones as well, including the mainstream media. Just look at the France protests, which have seen mass arrests and protesters getting eyes shot out and hands blown off by brutal police responses while receiving nary a whisper of commentary from the plutocrat-owned talking heads, yet if this were happening in Russia we all know it would be forced into viral trends and pushed into public consciousness at every opportunity.
If Saudi Arabia existed in the “enemies” column instead of the “allies”, we’d have been seeing constant mass media coverage of its butchery in Yemen for almost four years now. MSNBC, which recently went more than a year without mentioning Yemen even a single time, would be tearfully depicting the dying children with the same urgency it covered the “uniquely horrific” sarin gas attack alleged to have taken place in Syria last year, and doing so regularly. The starving children of Yemen would be on the forefront of western consciousness instead of the back burner, and demands to make it stop would be screaming from coast to coast.
That’s seriously it. That one stupid, silly shift from the “allies” column to the “enemies” column would make the difference between night and day in the western world’s response to the slaughter in Yemen. The Saudi royals would be vilified, and that vilification would be used to manufacture support for sanctions and strategies to shove the KSA off the world stage. CIA covert ops would be implemented to sow discord, and starvation sanctions would target Saudi civilians to help stoke the flames of discontent. Regime change would take place via invasion or staged coup, and then a puppet regime would be installed which would quietly make the shift to selling all Saudi oil in US dollars.
There is no consistency in how mass arrests are depicted in Western media. If this took place in a "hostile" country, it would be declared state-sponsored repression by an authoritarian regime https://t.co/xFmJNwlgBE

And in the meantime, God help Trump if he was stupid enough to stay cozied up with the Saudis, because guess what? There’s a lot more evidence for Saudi collusion than there is for Russia collusion. The all-you-can-eat nothingburger of Russiagate would have been replaced by far more concrete and straightforward stories about direct financial ties to the Saudi government, an emissary for a Saudi prince who wanted to help Trump win the 2016 election, and remarks by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman that Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner is “in his pocket”. Trump’s creepy glowing orb picture alone would have mainstream Saudi-gate conspiracy theorists in intractable hysterics.
Of course none of this would ever have had a chance to happen, because if Saudi Arabia were not a US ally, it would have been invaded and forcibly regime changed immediately after 9/11.
But Saudi Arabia is a US ally, and a very close one indeed. Its petrodollar deal, its prime strategic location and its ability to move vast amounts of wealth around behind a veil of total government opacity in the facilitation of sociopathic agendas has made it a priceless asset in the US-centralized empire’s relentless quest for global domination. This remains true in spite of whatever particular quibbles that empire might happen to have with MBS, and in spite of any journalists’ unfortunate encounters with any bone saws.
The struggle to dominate the Middle East remains one of the foremost priorities of elite power in this world, and they’re going to do everything they can not to let a few piles of dead children interfere with an important alliance. The butchery in Yemen is the single worst thing that is happening in the world today, and because of the power dynamics that are at play, we’re going to need a whole lot more than a feel-good Senate vote to heal it. It’s a step. We must keep stepping.

The Best Definition of Donald Trump We Have Found
In his zeal to prove to his antagonists in the War Party that he is as bloodthirsty as their champion, Hillary Clinton, and more manly than Barack Obama, Trump seems to have gone “play-crazy” -- acting like an unpredictable maniac in order to terrorize the Russians into forcing some kind of dramatic concessions from their Syrian allies, or risk Armageddon. However, the “play-crazy” gambit can only work when the leader is, in real life, a disciplined and intelligent actor, who knows precisely what actual boundaries must not be crossed. That ain’t Donald Trump -- a pitifully shallow and ill-disciplined man, emotionally handicapped by obscene privilege and cognitively crippled by white American chauvinism. By pushing Trump into a corner and demanding that he display his most bellicose self, or be ceaselessly mocked as a “puppet” and minion of Russia, a lesser power, the War Party and its media and clandestine services have created a perfect storm of mayhem that may consume us all.— Glen Ford, Editor in Chief, Black Agenda Report
America’s Allies Against Russia & Iran: Main U.S. allies are Saudi Arabia, UAE, Al Qaeda, ISIS, Israel, & Nazis

The public have been so brainwashed by Big Brother’s lies, so that many people won’t believe this article unless they click onto the link wherever they happen to think that what it is alleging is false. Then, they will see the evidence, for themselves, and will recognize that they’ve been fooled about that matter, and those readers will learn something important that they didn’t know before — including that Big Brother is real, and what it actually is, and how it came to be the way it is. This is about reality, the reality behind the screen of lies. Today's Axis (the fascist powers) are the heirs of Hitler’s failed Operation Barbarossa to conquer the Soviet Union. After World War II, America’s CIA, along with Britain’s MI6 and other governmental agencies, plus the Vatican, produced “rat lines” for key Nazis (including their collaborators in other countries) to resettle in U.S., Argentina, and Canada (and in other countries, too, as the CIA-edited and written account at Wikipedia focused upon), and for these ‘former’ Nazis (who actually remained ideologically as nazis or racist fascists, and the CIA knew and welcomed this) to continue working to conquer the Soviet Union. These secret nazis carried out secret assignments not only for their new country’s military and against the Soviet Union, but also domestically against labor unions of all sorts, and against anything that the owners of the largest U.S.-and-allied international corporations wanted to be targeted. This was and is an officially secret extension of the internationally coordinated farthest far-right, the few people who actually control the international corporations. It consists of the operations on behalf of the Deep State, but the agents who carry out these instructions are only agents; consequently, everything that they know regarding what they are instructed to do is told to them only privately on a need-to-know basis, so that only the members of the Deep State itself are aware of what the broader objectives of any given operation are. For example, the CIA’s operations aren’t part of the Deep State but particular ones of these operations represent the Deep State — the instructions they execute on these operations come from the Deep State; the CIA is an agency for the international Deep State, but not all of what the CIA does represents the Deep State. Not even the U.S. President himself is necessarily aware of what the agents of the Deep State are doing — not even of what the Deep State’s agents who are on the federal payroll are doing. For example, as soon as Franklin Delano Roosevelt died in 1945, the Deep State (the controlling owners of the largest international corporations) started to take over, and not everything that it was doing was known at the time by the leaders of the official (elected) American government. Even U.S. President Harry S. Truman — though the sign on his desk said “The BUCK STOPS here!” and he meant it — was kept in the dark, and was occasionally deceived, about some things that the OSS (precursor to the CIA) and the CIA were doing. For example, Truman probably didn’t know that in 1948 the CIA perpetrated its first coup and this coup in Thailand established the off-the-books funding of the CIA from the international narcotics traffic, so that the CIA’s actual budget wouldn’t be restricted simply to the on-the-books funding, from U.S. taxpayers. This illegal funding-source has been crucial for many of the CIA’s operations, and makes bribes untraceable. A subversive right-wing coup, centered in the United States but operating throughout all U.S.-allied countries, thus gradually took over in the formerly anti-Nazi U.S.-allied non-communist countries. This slow coup was internationally coordinated amongst aristocrats (the controllers of international corporations) from all participating countries. But it was internationally led by America’s aristocrats, starting when FDR died. Some of the major operations of the international Deep State were courageously reported in a rare and classic BBC documentary, in 1992, shown in this video. As it makes clear, these agents of the Deep State considered themselves to be revolutionaries. They were heroes, in their own eyes. Here are two brief excerpts from that video: 8:35-9:00: “As the [Nazi] Germans withdrew, they left secret agents in the countries they had occupied. … For the retreating Germans, they were the staunchest elitists. They were selected from the SS and the fascist Black Legions. They were to become the footsoldiers in the next war, about to begin. 10:25-10:55: “Then [OSS second-in-command] Jim Angleton [James Jesus Angleton] appeared in August [1945]. He started recruiting fascists, because he said that the best way to control the communists was to hire fascists. One of the most tough ones was Prince Valerio Borghese, who ran what was known as the tenth flotilla. These are the guys that would execute partisans [anti-fascists] and hang them from lamp posts all over Italy.” So: within just months of FDR’s 12 April 1945 death, The West’s Deep State was already in full start-up mode, to achieve ultimately a fascist victory, not only against the U.S.S.R., but also against Western countries themselves. This is the historical reality, about The West, after WW II. Angleton’s alleged father, James Hugh Angleton, had allegedly been assigned by OSS chief Bill Donovan to the OSS’s X-2 operationto identify as many secret fascist operatives in Europe as he could; and, “By the end of World War II, the X-2 had discovered around 3,000 Axis agents.” The alleged son (Jesus) was now harvesting his alleged father’s crops, who have flowered to what we have today. However, the official U.S. Government record of “Angleton, James H. Jr.” “Age: 28” Date: 4 Dec. 1945” (see page 4 there) indicates that he (Hugh) must have been born around 1917. And yet the official birth date of his alleged son, James Jesus Angleton, was 9 December 1917. The New York Times 7 March 1973 obituary, “James H. Angleton Dead at 84; National Cash Register Officer”, asserts that: As liaison officer between the O.S.S. and the Fifth Army he assisted the military‐government mission in Italy and captured codes, card files and documents important to American security. After the war he returned to Italy and worked for the restoration of Italian business and industry and for a stable, democratic government. He was for many years president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Italy. Instead of his having been born in 1917, he had actually been born in 1889, which is believable. So, one can reasonably infer that in 1945, the 56-year-old Hugh Angleton passed along to the 28-year-old Jesus Angleton, his contact list of approximately 3,000 secret operatives of Hitler and of Mussolini in Europe, and that this son (Jesus) proceeded promptly to recruit these secret Nazis and Fascists to work for the OSS. The father could retire rich, while the son went on to grow and harvest his crops, for America’s war against Russia (not actually against communism — which was the cover-story). Jefferson Morley’s trashy ‘biography’ of Jesus, The Ghost, fails even so much as to mention that Jesus’s father had been OSS, just like the son, and had passed his torch along to him, and that the son ran with his father’s torch. To Morley, that torch did not exist, and Jesus’ father was just a successful American businessman who happened to be living in Italy at the time of WW II. One can’t take seriously anything that’s published about such people, except that they recruited Fascists and Nazis into the CIA, and that Jesus continued on as a friend and supporter of Nazis and of pro-Nazis. This doesn’t necessarily mean (as superficial persons might think) that Jesus was against Israel. Israel itself is Jewish racist-fascist — nazi-Jewish, apartheid and all the rest of what racism and tribalism mean (just a different target for their racism, Palestinians, like Russians were the targets that the CIA hated), and, of course, it is capitalist. Jesus was out to conquer Russia, and he used nazis to the hilt, for that purpose. That’s the reality, which is fully consistent with all of the little that’s reliably known about him. More is reliably known about his subsequent boss, Allen Dulles, who was nazi through-and-through, and who relied heavily upon Angleton. As David Talbot wrote, in his excellent biography of Allen Dulles, The Devil’s Chessboard (page 29), “If their powerful enemy in the White House [FDR] had survived the war, the Dulles brothers would likely have faced serious criminal charges for their wartime activities.” FDR didn’t want Truman as his V.P., but the Party’s big donors were rabid against the person he did want. So, Truman got the nod. And the billionaires got what they wanted, which was someone who was almost as much of a fool for President as his successor, Eisenhower (who handed foreign affairs over to the Dulles brothers), turned out to be. [dropcap]W[/dropcap]hen the Soviet Union broke up and ended its communism in 1991 and thereafter, their former Warsaw Pact military alliance became gradually absorbed into America’s NATO alliance — and now even a former part of the Soviet federation itself within the former Soviet Union (and which thus is no mere Warsaw Pact ally), Ukraine, is being invited into NATO, and is preparing for admission into the anti-Russia military pact — into the U.S. alliance against Russia — and hopes to conquer Russia totally. The name for the broader U.S. plan here (of which the takeover of Ukraine is only a part) is “Nuclear Primacy” — the U.S. Government’s goal is U.S. victory in a nuclear war against Russia, and this goal can be achieved only if the U.S. nuclearly blitz-attacks Russia, and if that blitz-attack eliminates Russia’s retaliatory weapons (sufficiently to meet the U.S. Government’s top-secret standard of what would constitute acceptable damage to the U.S. from a Russian retaliatory attack). This is the ultimate strategic plan (and all details of it are prohibited from being made public). “Nuclear Primacy” replaces the prior meta-strategy, which was called “Mutually Assured Destruction” or “M.A.D.” — the belief that the purpose of nuclear weapons is to prevent a World War III, not to win a WW III. This new meta-strategy starts from the assumption that the number of people killed in the U.S. and allied countries by a counter-attack from Russia responding to a sudden and unannounced blitz nuclear invasion of Russia, by the U.S. and its allies, will be worth that (currently secret) cost. Some experts say that since even the proponents of “Nuclear Primacy” have ignored instead of discussed nuclear winter, the only reason for the continuation of the ‘Cold War’ (the potential for an intentional nuclear war between America and Russia) after the end of the Soviet Union and of its Warsaw Pact and of its communism, is in order to advance the stock-values of Lockheed Martin, Boeing, SAIC, and the other international corporations whose sole main sources of income are the U.S. Government and its allied governments. These government-dependent corporations have taken over the government, just like U.S. President Dwight Eisenhower publicly warned the American people against at the very end of his two terms of office, at a time when the process was, by then, already almost complete, and he himself had actually been the person who had done the most that anyone had yet done to advance the military-industrial complex. His famous “military-industrial complex” speech (and here is its broader context) urged future Presidents to try to undo what he himself had actually already set inevitably into motion in America. It was as if he was warning to close the barn door so that the horse won’t get out, but the horse had already been stolen and was no longer even subject to this person’s control. Sales of weapons that American corporations market to the American Government, and to its allied Governments, thus came to wag the tail of America’s future ‘democracy’; nobody any longer could stop this process from being completed. Now that the ‘anti-Islamic-terrorist’ excuses for selling and buying their weapons and services are declining, the focus is, yet again, increasingly against Russia and its allies, in order that the owners of those corporations (the category of corporations that depend the most upon their Government) will continue to grow in wealth, and not to lose value of their investments. As the anti-Jewish writer Philip Giraldi said accurately (though I think he misunderstands how the Deep State, of which he used to be an operative, actually functions), "Defense contractors need a foe to justify their existence while congressmen need the contractors to fund their campaigns." He interprets the corruption in a tribal way, rather than as corruption itself and of any type, as being the reason why the United States continues to try to achieve 'Nuclear Primacy'. But that explanation would not explain why nuclear winter is not being discussed by the proponents of ‘Nuclear Primacy’. None of the publicly available estimates, behind the ’Nuclear Primacy’ meta-strategy, even discusses nuclear winter, which physicists say would follow such a nuclear war between U.S. and Russia, and would virtually eliminate agriculture and produce mass-starvation throughout the entire world, including in any ‘victor’ country. It threatens all tribes. The published studies regarding the possibility of “nuclear winter” all concern the likely effect of a nuclear war between India and Pakistan, or other and even lesser pairings. Whether or not the U.S. Government has ever commissioned a study of what the likely effects of a nuclear war between the U.S. and Russia would be, is not publicly known. Possibly, this subject has been examined but the findings are not disclosed; but, also possibly, the U.S. Government does not want such a study to be done, at all, so that no one will know what the findings might turn out to be. The latter possibility might, for example, be the case if America’s weapons manufacturing and marketing firms control the U.S. Government. If constant increases in their sales is the objective that drives the U.S. Government, then there would be sound reason for the U.S. Government to prevent or at least suppress any such analysis of the global effects, inasmuch as its findings could crash those corporations’ stock-values, and the billionaires who control those firms and the U.S. Government, might suffer enormous losses. This assumes that the U.S. Government represents those owners and not the public. But in any case: marketing weapons that are suitable only for traditional, non-nuclear, wars, such as against regular jihadists, has apparently run its course and produced all of the sales-growth that that business-plan is likely to achieve; and, therefore, as has been the case since at least the time of the Obama Administration, the U.S. is actively gearing up for an invasion of Russia. The U.S. Government is behaving as if America’s weapons-producers own it. The weapons-producers (that is, the owners of the weapons-producers) seem to be in control of the U.S. Government. Whereas Giraldi and most other writers against U.S. imperialism — against development of control over the entire world by U.S. billionaires — allege that the origin of this imperialism is “Jews” (and specifically the Jews who joined together under the banner of “neoconservatism” after 1960), insufficient public attention has been devoted to the possibility that an even more crucial role in the Middle Eastern portion of the U.S. Government’s plan is being played by the world’s wealthiest family, the royal Saud family of Saudi Arabia, who have the same obsession to conquer Iran that Israel’s Government does. Israel’s powerful lobby in the United States is pressing the same things that the Saud family do; each of the two (Israel and the Sauds) pushes the invade-Iran theme, and each is at least accepting of all the rest of the other’s foreign policies; but, whereas lobbyists for Jews are viewed somewhat sympathetically by the American public, no lobbyists for Muslims have anything like the same level of acceptance by the U.S. public. For a U.S. Senator or Representative to be championing Israel is accepted by the American public far more than is for that same person to be championing the Saud family, who own Saudi Arabia, or to be championing any of the 7 royal families who own UAE, or etc. (Kuwait, Qatar, or even non-Arab governments, such as Pakistan). Whereas the Gulf Cooperation Council of fundamentalist-Sunni Arab kings constitute, by far, the lion’s share of foreign buyers of U.S.-made weaponry, Israel not only doesn’t have such enormous financial resources, but it even receives from U.S. taxpayers $3.8 billion in U.S. donations to Israel’s Government, each and every year, in order for Israel to be able to afford to buy from U.S. makers the weapons that it does buy. In contrast to Israel’s relative pauper-status there, U.S. President Donald Trump personally sold to the Saud family $350 billion of U.S. weapons shortly after becoming President, and increased that to $400 billion soon afterwards. His sale, to the Sauds, of U.S. weaponry, is overwhelmingly the largest military sale in all of world history. It is Trump’s major achievement thus far in his Presidency. (Trump can meet privately with King Saud, and with Netanyahu, but the Deep State calls him a ‘traitor’ for meeting privately with Putin. That Deep State hate Putin.) Furthermore, the people who would control Syria, if the U.S.-Saudi-Israeli war were to win and replace Bashar al-Assad’s secular, non-sectarian, Government, there, would be the Saud family — not Israel, and not the U.S. The American Government is fighting in Syria for the Sauds to take over that country, an ally both of Russia and of Iran. Israel is part of that alliance — the alliance for the Sauds. America’s proxy boots-on-the-ground in Syria have been trained and led mainly by Al Qaeda there. That has a long history going back even to before Al Qaeda existed — 1949. Occasionally, ISIS in Syria has also received American assistance in order to advance “regime-change” there. Sometimes, U.S.-backed ‘rebels’ in Syria have quit because U.S. forces were secretly transferring, to ISIS, weapons that the U.S. had originally supplied to less-fundamentalist groups. Moreover, the Saud family have been (and perhaps still are) the chief funders of Al Qaeda, and maybe even of its spin-off organization, ISIS. 9/11 did great things for the military-contracting firms, the companies whose biggest foreign market is the Saud family. They’re on the same team. Though Israel has provided crucial assistance to both Al Qaeda and ISIS on some occasions, there is no publicly available evidence that Israel has been funding either group. But Israel provides, as its contribution, a huge portion of the team’s lobbying. In addition: the financial bag-man for Al Qaeda up to the time of 9/11, the person who privately travelled to pick up each of the million-dollar-plus cash donations to Al Qaeda, specifically named Saudi Princes Bandar, Turki, Waleed, and Salman, among those donors, and he said that no Saudi Prince who lacks the endorsement of Saudi Arabia’s Wahhabist clergy can be considered by the Saud family to appoint as the next King, and that the Wahhabist clergy requested and received from Osama bin Laden a letter with bin Laden’s recommendations before they advised the Saud family upon that matter (whom to select as the next King). As the major historian of contemporary geopolitics, Michel Chossudovsky, documented in an article, "Secret Meeting on the Privatization of Nuclear War Held on Hiroshima Day 2003: Behind closed doors at Strategic Command Headquarters”: On August 6, 2003, on Hiroshima Day, commemorating when the first atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima (August 6 1945), a secret meeting was held behind closed doors at Strategic Command Headquarters at the Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska. Senior executives from the nuclear industry and the military industrial complex were in attendance. This mingling of defense contractors, scientists and policy-makers was not intended to commemorate Hiroshima. The United States Government was already preparing for the time when the then-raging U.S. military buildup in order to deal with terrorism would need to be supplanted with a return to the major-power, strategic nuclear, weaponry, which could carry U.S. weapons-manufacturers back to the good old days of unlimited ‘defense’ spending, and unlimited war-profits to these firms. Dr. Chossudovsky continued: The Privatization of Nuclear War: US Military Contractors Set the Stage The post 9/11 nuclear weapons doctrine was in the making, with America’s major defense contractors directly involved in the decision-making process. The Hiroshima Day 2003 meetings had set the stage for the “privatization of nuclear war”. Corporations not only reap multibillion-dollar profits from the production of nuclear bombs, they also have a direct voice in setting the agenda regarding the use and deployment of nuclear weapons. The nuclear weapons industry, which includes the production of nuclear devices as well as the missile delivery systems, etc., is controlled by a handful of defense contractors with Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon and Boeing in the lead. Unlike regular corporations, whose markets are either consumers, or else other firms, the markets that these firms sell to are mainly the U.S. Government (the military part of it), and the foreign governments that are allied to it — the biggest of those foreign buyers being the Saud family itself (the owners of the Government of Saudi Arabia). So, this is a very exclusive team, of billionaires (trillionaires in the case of the Sauds), and of their agents throughout the world. These are weapons-systems that cost in the billions of dollars, rather than in the millions of dollars. America’s generals and national-‘security’ advisors and other individuals who take part in the U.S. Government’s planning and weapons-purchases, rotate between official government posts and international corporate boards; and, basically, as professionals in their line of work, they play both sides of that revolving door (between the government and ‘the private sector’) so as to maximize their own future likely income streams. They are not peace-planners. That’s not really what they get paid to do — avoid weapons-buildups and invasions. The people who get paid to do the peace-job don’t have nearly as much to sell, and they’ve got far fewer and poorer buyers for their services (maybe the public?). This is the reality of ‘the free market’. Another word for it is: “corruption.” Whenever and wherever wealth is extremely concentrated in a few, corruption reigns, the public does not. For a country to have vast inequality of wealth is to have vast corruption, and to be ruled by it. The CIA-controlled Wikipedia article on “Nuclear Winter” is written to deceive about the subject; and, therefore, for example, it opens one of its sections with a blatantly propagandistic title and introduction: See also: Soviet influence on the peace movement § Claims of wider Soviet influence In an interview in 2000 with Mikhail Gorbachev (the leader of the Soviet Union from 1985–91), the following statement was posed to him: "In the 1980s, you warned about the unprecedented dangers of nuclear weapons and took very daring steps to reverse the arms race", with Gorbachev replying "Models made by Russian and American scientists showed that a nuclear war would result in a nuclear winter that would be extremely destructive to all life on Earth; the knowledge of that was a great stimulus to us, to people of honor and morality, to act in that situation."[216] However, a 1984 US Interagency Intelligence Assessment expresses a far more skeptical and cautious approach, stating that as the hypothesis is not scientifically convincing. Though the Wiki article discusses several studies that had been done in the 1980s modeling the consequences of an India-Pakistan nuclear war and comparably smaller ones, it mentions only dismissively the far-more-recent and inclusive study: In a 2012 "Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists" feature, Robock and Toon, who had routinely mixed their disarmament advocacy into the conclusions of their "nuclear winter" papers,[18] argue in the political realm that the hypothetical effects of nuclear winter necessitates that the doctrine they assume is active in Russia and US, "mutually assured destruction" (MAD) should instead be replaced with their own "self-assured destruction" (SAD) concept,[200]. [dropcap]T[/dropcap]he propaganda is strictly by Wikipedia there, not at all by Robock and Toon, whose article does not argue to replace “MAD” with “SAD” nor with anything at all, but instead documents and affirms M.A.D. — yes, Wikipedia outright lies, when it must — and their article summarizes studies published between 1980 and 2010, none of which modeled a U.S.-Russia war, but all of which were consistent with the authors’ conclusion; namely, that even those, much smaller, wars, would make things vastly worse for both sides (both sides would enormously lose) and would also produce mass-starvation in broader areas of the planet. Then, the article — which, as noted, was current as of 2012 (not just as-of those earlier periods) — summarily stated, as follows, all work that had been done on the subject, up till that time (and not since supplanted): The new models show that a full-scale nuclear conflict, in which 150 million tons of smoke are lofted into the upper atmosphere [the minimum that a U.S.-Russia war would do], would drastically reduce precipitation by 45 percent on a global average, while temperatures would fall for several years by 7 to 8 degrees Celsius [13 degrees Fahrenheit] on average and would remain depressed by 4 degrees Celsius after a decade (Robock et al., 2007a). Humans have not experienced temperatures this low since the last ice age (Figure 2). In important grain-growing regions of the northern mid-latitudes [including both U.S. and Russia, as well as most of Europe], precipitation would decline by up to 90 percent, and temperatures would fall below freezing and remain there for one or more years. The number of weapons needed to initiate these climate changes falls within the range of arsenals planned for the coming decade (Toon et al., 2008). For instance, the use of 4,000 weapons (the rough total for US and Russian arsenals in 2017 under New START), each with a yield of 100 kilotons (a typical yield for submarine weapons, but at the low end for most nuclear weapons), against urban or industrial targets would produce about 180 million tons of soot [30 million higher than that 150 million estimate]. A single US submarine carrying 144 weapons of 100-kiloton yield could produce 23 million tons of smoke if these weapons were used on densely populated Chinese cities. The effects of the nuclear contamination itself are in addition to that estimation of the smoke-damages. The U.S. weapons-manufacturers and their agents might not want the public to know this (and so Wikipedia lies about it), but not only would both sides lose from a U.S.-Russia nuclear war, but the entire planet would lose — and drastically. The cigarette-manufacturers long hid the harms of their business, but today’s privatized weapons-manufacturing firms dwarf the corruption and harm that the tobacco-industry perpetrated. The liars get well-paid, but the truth is far grimmer, and far deadlier — especially in this matter. Unlike the CIA-Wikipedia fictionalized version, M.A.D. wasn’t “Soviet exploitation” — it was instead the reality recognized by both sides, and is the reality even today, despite what the U.S. weapons-manufacturers and their enormous sales-forces have been deceiving their publics to believe since 2006. Consequently, I infer, from the evidence, that the leaders, of the operation to conquer Russia, are the controlling owners of America’s large ‘defense’ contractors, and of those individuals’ largest non-U.S. customer, the Saud family. The Sauds’ biggest competitors in the international-energy markets (which are their own main markets) are: Russia and Iran. Those same two countries are also the main enemies that are targeted by the U.S. alliance. It makes sense for the Sauds to be the #1 foreign buyers of American-made weapons. Not only do they get the weapons, but they get control over the U.S. Government, which, in turn, determines which nations will be America’s ‘enemies’ (the ‘military-industrial complex’s targets), and which nations will be America’s ‘allies’ (the ‘military-industrial complex’s markets). The Sauds buy their allies wisely. Their business-plan includes, as the most important ally, America’s aristocracy; and (as a crucial ally to add greatly to the impact of America’s aristocracy, supplementing them to win the U.S. policies the Sauds need) Israel’s aristocracy. The combination of those two control-levers over the U.S. Government is powerful. Perhaps in the sudden global cooling from nuclear winter, the Sauds’ region will even become one of the world’s greenest and most fruitful. If anyone still exists then, at all. Where does the EU, and where does the anti-Russia NATO alliance, fit into this reality? Some of Europe’s aristocrats are benefiting from alliance with the U.S., but others are not. And, of course, America’s aristocrats benefit enormously from having their support — i.e., from buying their support, bribing them in the legal ways. However, Europe’s aristocratic nazis weren’t supposed to have been the winners of WW II. So: nazi Europeans are Europe’s enemies, not its friends — just as nazi Americans aren’t friends but instead enemies to the American people. That hasn’t changed, and can’t change. Only Europeans can decide what to do regarding nazi Europeans. And only Americans can decide what to do regarding nazi Americans. (One idea might be to refuse to vote for nazis, but, under existing circumstances, how would that even be possible?) Without constant deceit, this situation couldn’t exist anywhere. And if people are constantly deceived, they are powerless. Deceit is the chief weapon of Operation Barbarossa II, the American aristocracy’s war, not the German aristocracy’s war (which was more overtly physical — military — and was only secondarily based upon deceiving the public). When the Sauds became America’s allies in 1945 via the secret “Quincy Pact” between FDR and Saud, FDR probably expected that it would move Saudi Arabia gradually toward democracy. What instead happened is that the Saud family and the losers of Operation Barbarossa became carried forward toward ultimate victory over The West, by an alliance between the Saudi and the American aristocracies. The Sauds and America’s aristocrats won; FDR and his democratic legacy and the American people ourselves, lost. The subterranean fascist forces turned out to be far more potent than FDR imagined. Perhaps the OSS had been deceiving him. Incidentally, any secret treaty (including the Quincy Pact) is unConstitutional. None of this happened democratically. It was a slow coup. That’s what created today’s alliances, and today’s targets. Thus, though Hitler lost, his cause (except for his anti-Jewish fixation) has been moving slowly and methodically toward victory, and it’s being led by the aristocracies of U.S. and Saudi Arabia. To understand the Deep State, its basic ideological principles need to be recognized. Under Hitler, hereditary rights and obligations were publicly recognized; and democracy, the rule over a land by the residents on that land, was publicly condemned. Not only the hereditary principle, but the imperialistic principle, the right of foreign conquest, was publicly honored. The two principles go naturally together. The main reason why the Sauds and the other (all of them fundamentalist Sunnis) Arab kings, want to conquer Iran, is that Shia Islam denies the right of hereditary rule. (This is also why in Syria, Bashar al-Assad claims no hereditary right to rule; if he were to do otherwise, he’d violate Shia Islam and he would be rejected by Iran.) The main reason why America’s aristocracy wants to conquer Russia (other than the latter’s natural-resources wealth, which has always been a reason) is that Vladimir Putin insists that only the residents in a land should possess sovereignty there, but the U.S. and British aristocracies insist upon the right to conquer foreign lands. As an ideology, nazism totally affirms both the hereditary principle, and the imperialist principle. This is what the U.S.-Saudi alliance likewise affirms. And that is why, for example, the CIA has always favored monarchies and opposed democracies (or at least authentic ones, which the U.S. aristocracy cannot control). ** So: what is Big Brother? It is the billionaires who own controlling interests in these companies. And that is why the most-respected of all institutions, in the United States (and by a substantial margin above any other) is the military. That is Big Brother, in the real world. Big Brother consists of a highly networked few extremely wealthy individuals, the majority of whom cannot be individually identified, because the ownership of these corporations is hidden behind layers of “street name accounts” and especially offshore accounts, but all being private financial entities whose profits are derived from sales to governments, instead of from sales to consumers, or to businesses whose customers are consumers. These firms function together like a highly networked cartel of secret arsonists who also make and sell the firefighting equipment. They thus secretly produce the market for their services. That’s the best type of business to be in. But it is also the most harmful type of business to be in. And they own that business — and newsmedia and many other types of businesses that likewise are essential to the success of their core business, the one that accounts for the lion’s share of their real profits, the sales to governments.BE SURE TO PASS OUR ARTICLES ON TO KIN, FRIENDS AND COLLEAGUESToday's Axis (the fascist powers) are the heirs of Hitler’s failed Operation Barbarossa to conquer the Soviet Union. After World War II, America’s CIA, along with Britain’s MI6 and other governmental agencies, plus the Vatican, produced “rat lines” for key Nazis (including their collaborators in other countries) to resettle in U.S., Argentina, and Canada (and in other countries, too...
