The roundtable discusses the probability that the Venezuelan / Guyana clash over territorial rights, long outstanding, may ignite a regional war with US imperialist intervention. Few things would give the frustrated US more pleasure these days than to attack a rebel nation in its own hemisphere, and where war logistics might be easier to manage than in the Middle East, Taiwan, or Ukraine. Not to mention that the Washington planners and their masters, the Neocons in the Biden administration, may think they can easily topple the Bolivarian government and seize Venezuela's enormous oil reserves. Imperial hubris and massive ignorance of history's lessons may cloud their minds. But it would be good for such plotters to remember that practically all empires—from Rome to the British—accelerated their fall by over-extending themselves.

South America is a prime example of the imperialist economic debt system. In Marxism that system is what keeps the capitalist economies rolling. A clever deceit was to set up the world bank which assured that the countries that were forced into indebtedness would toe the line. Anyone resisting is wiped out by military action and South America especially has been kept in servitude. Not even an influence from China can combat this.
