Declares “socialist” AOC: “We are watching Cubans rise up and protest like never before. We offer our solidarity and condemn the antidemocratic actions initiated by President Díaz-Canel.” (Due to backlash, the tweet mysteriously disappeared.)

Cuba Defies US to Deny Pressuring OAS Members
10 minutes readThe disturbances in Cuba were marked by unprecedented violence and vandalism, jeopardizing the lives of hundreds of Cubans, including peaceful demonstrators and revolutionaries who took to the streets in response. However, the mainstream media have tried to deem the protests as peaceful to legitimize the narrative that the Cuban government, which does allow the right to demonstrate peacefully, was repressing those who do not support the revolution.

THE SAKER—The quick way to summarize this development is to say that both the S-500 and the Zircon have no comparable competitors anywhere in the world, not even vaguely comparable ones. Both the S-500 and the Zircon missiles are way, waaaay ahead of any other weapons system in their categories. Even better, the Empire has nothing, and really I mean absolutely nothing, it could oppose to either one of these weapons systems. And with not too much hyperbole, it would be fair to say that, once fully deployed, the S-500 will make most of the US/NATO aviation and tactical/operational and even some strategic missiles completely obsolete. As for the Zircon, it does the same thing to the USN’s surface fleet. To say that this is huge would be an understatement, especially since US/NATO force planners must now decide what to do about this, and that is no small task considering that is now becoming obvious that US/NATO force planners made some truly major mistakes in their assumptions about what the modern 21st century battlefield will really look like.

The War on Cuba—excellent documentary series exposing the naked criminality of US foreign policy
21 minutes readP. GREANVILLE—The repugnant evil of US policy toward Cuba is undeniable and in the open; it’s been so for decades—six and counting—and yet no one can do much about it because the rulers of the US, the billionaires that comprise its sociopathic oligarchy, will not lift their crippling economic embargo on the island, a polite term for economic warfare. And they can’t be forced to remove their sanctions—completely illegal from the standpoint of international law—because they hide behind America’s bloated military muscle and a thick wall of disinformation loyally operated by the system’s prostituted media. We know why this is being done. Cuba is hated and demonised by US ruling elites and their accomplices around the globe for the same reasons the Soviet Union and Communist China, and more recently Venezuela, Nicaragua and Iran have also been hated and feared: they provide a living demonstration that humanity has much better choices than the “American Way of Life,” that is, irrational and savagely predatory capitalism.

CHRIS HEDGES—Hale was coerced by Biden’s Justice Department on March 31 to plead guilty to one count of violating the Espionage Act, a law passed in 1917 designed to prosecute those who passed on state secrets to a hostile power, not those who expose to the public government lies and crimes. Hale admitted as part of the plea deal to “retention and transmission of national security information” and leaking 11 classified documents to a journalist. He is being held in the Alexandria Adult Detention Center in Virginia, awaiting sentencing on July 27. If he had refused the plea deal, he could have spent 50 years in prison. He now faces up to a decade in prison.
Tragically, his case has not garnered the attention it should.
