SCOTT RITTER—Faced with this threat, the Georgia Dream Party had no choice but to reintroduce the legislation on transparency on foreign influence. This time, however, Georgia Dream understood the scope and scale of the opposition it would face. Like any good ruling party, it counted the votes before it introduced the legislation, ensuring that it had enough votes not only to pass the bill, but also override any potential veto by the Geogian President, Salome Zourobichvili, a former French diplomat who had joined firmly with the goals and objectives of the Georgian political opposition and their US and European masters.

MAX PARRY—Whenever there is a flare-up in the Israel-Palestine conflict, the circumstances that led to the former’s 75-year occupation are inevitably revisited. Alas, it would be a disservice for this colossal misstep to remain neglected, especially since it is often used to discredit the legacy of the Soviet Union, which admittedly both voted for the 1947 UN partition of Palestine and was the first state to officially recognize the Zionist entity three days after it declared independence the following year. So how could the USSR at one moment have supported Israel, and why? While it may be far from the minds of those protesting genocide and seem like a rarefied question, it is a topic that is more relevant now than ever before.

41 minutes readFELIX ABT—We also watch in disbelief as the last vestiges of moral decency are turned upside down: Those of us who oppose genocide are accused of condoning it. Those who commit genocide are exercising their right to self-defense! In September, before the paramilitary wing of Hamas overran the Israeli border on October 7, 2023 (a sober analysis can be found here), Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu showed a map of the so-called New Middle East at a session of the UN General Assembly. The Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem had all been incorporated into a Greater Israel. Ironically, he insisted that Israel should extend “from the river to the sea.” Palestine had ceased to exist. Palestinians are forced to choose between death by bombing, disease, exposure, starvation or expulsion from their homeland.

EDITOR—The idea of NATO troops to Ukraine is a nonstarter, opines Garland Nixon. Neither the US, nor the West, have the capability now to match Russia and her allies in terms of military hardware output and quality, nor in the superiority of her battle-hardened armies. We are watching the spectacular collapse of an Empire. Meanwhile, other aggressive parts of the Empire can’t even properly defend themselves, as was demonstrated during the Iranian drone/missile attack on Israel. It took the assets of the collective West to degrade a bit the Iranian assault and even then they could not stop (as they claim) many of Tehran’s missiles.
