The New York Times today buried some news that could turn out to be vital to peace in the Middle East over the next few months. Toward the end of a report on Trump’s bizarre press conference/campaign rally at his private club in New Jersey last night, the paper revealed that he is quarreling with Sheldon Adelson, the billionaire pro-Israel mega-donor.

Geopolitical analyst Matthew Ehret takes aim at the recent Beirut blast, as horrific as it remains mysterious in origin. In the absence of hard evidence, conjectures and conspiracies are flying about, but, at least for the time being, a reasoned response is the best path out of this calamity. Soon, we hope, we may know the exact cause or author(s) of this tragedy.

David Lynch is for most people, including critics, unclassifiable. A director who follows his own visions (which most auteurs do, anyhow) in this 1977 surrealist horror film Lynch (who also gave us Mulholland Drive and The Lost Highway) breaks most “sacred” rules to build an utterly strange dreamlike world mixing imagery redolent of steampunk and nightmarish biology, all along apparently drawing inspiration from the likes of Kafka and Dali. In sum, weird.

Beirut port fire: A crime against Lebanese workers
12 minutes readAs the brown haze and fumes from the massive explosions lifted, Beirut appeared as a war zone, with destruction more extensive than after weeks of intensive shelling during Lebanon’s civil war of 1975-1989. The damage has extended across half the city, at a cost estimated at $3 billion, with 300,000 people now homeless, according to the city’s governor, Marwan Abboud, in a city where housing was already in short supply.

The Convo Couch: Beirut Lebanon Disaster, Cori Bush defeats Incumbent, Republicans outleft the Dems? & more!
9 minutes readP. GREANVILLE—Introducing The Convo Couch, another very fine resource on the left—I’m talking left , folks, not treacherous IDpolliberals, which of course we would never feature or recommend on The Greanville Post. Why? Because one of our missions is to expose the liberals/Democrats’ treacheries and bankrupt ideology, if we can use that word to describe their filthy tegument of lies and hypocrisy. The Convo Couch, like our comrade Caleb Maupin, operates out of YouTube, which is inherently dangerous (to them), since YouTube is Google and Google is the enemy. They could be deleted any time, as Google has done with numerous other progressives who were suppressed precisely at the point they were beginning to acquire a sizable audience, and a respectable monetized platform to keep them going. Let’s face it, folks, owned uniformly by sociopathic billionaires, and staffed with executives and front men who embody the values of capitalism—opportunism, hypocrisy, careerism, and mendacity in the service of the imperialist empire, which, as we all know here, means endless wars, including nuclear war, grotesque inequality, fascism, and ecocide— the corporate media are our enemy.
